Question about HP Pavilion dv6000z Notebook
It could either be a software problem or a hardware related issue;
1. check the keyboard workability in safe mode, if it does not work in safe mode, you would need to get it replaced.However, if it works, then that would mean that it is a software issue in which case you would need to either try system restore or operating system reinstallation.
Also, you have not mentioned which key(s) are non-functional. if it is just number keys then you would need to ensure that the num lock key is on (by just pressing it once).
