Re: CD error

Usually the turning longer than usual means the laser is having a hard time reading the disc. See if the same disc will work in another cd player, if its not the disc try cleaning the lens with a lens cleaning disc. ER (error) usually means a> the disc is unreadable or b> the laser is dirty or inoperable

The CD part of my player does not start.

From what it sounds like, the laser lens in your cd player is having trouble reading discs. Is it just one cd or all? assuming it's all. you make want to get a cd lens cleaner's basically a cd with little bristles on the bottom designed to 'sweep away' the dust that accumulates on the lens. However, should you do that a few times (i usually give it about five good runs) and it still doesnt work, try another disc and listen closely for any sort of 'out of place' clicking noises....especially a monotonous repetitively click or ticking.... that usually indicates that the lens carriage has somehow jammed or come off track and needs to be replaced or refitted. refitting them on the track isnt difficult and once you open it up it's pretty self explanatory if you're mechanically inclined. Hope this helps.

Cd tray will not open er cd11 code

Just talked to customer service at Sharp because I had same problem with my CD trays getting stuck and would not open even if they had cd's in them. He walked me through resetting the cd system. First have unit plugged in but in standby/off. Then press the open/close button, the stop button and the CD button all at one time(beside holding unit still to keep from sliding) till the display flashes CLEAR ALL and then let go and turn unit on and see if it solves your problem. It solved mine but I did write down instructions to make sure if it happens again I can use it again. Good luck, Helen

How do I record from a tape cassette to a cd?

You cannot, with this device. It doesn't have a CD-burner... those are usually only found in VERY high end audio systems, or on home computers. That said, you can find devices on the internet that will let you rip audio tracks from a cassette player to an MP3 file, which you can then burn to a CD or put on your computer.

The CD player is no longer working. Not sensing it.

buy a cleaning disk, or get a micro fiber cloth, and take the stereo apart and find the laser lens, near the motor that spins the cd, it will be pretty small, gently wipe it clean in one direction, if that doesnt work, the laser has quit working.

Car CD player ER message, then reject ???

when you get an err message it means that the eye of the cd cannot read the disk. when was the last time you put in a cd cleaner? one that you put into any cd player. you can get one at your local big lots or radio shack or best buy. you need not spend a lot of money for one. or you can try to use a cuetip dipped in alcohol and clean the eye only. dry with another cuetip or soft cloth and see if that solves the problem.

Constant 'Err' and 'No Cd'

Your post/description could be indicative of just that, your unit can no longer read the disc.
This could be brought about by:
1. dirty, dusty, smeared optical lens or the laser eye;
2. stuck lens carriage;
3. defective laser eye.

#1 could be corrected with the use of a CD cleaner commonly available at computer stores/shoppes. Alternately, you can use a fine, clean small brush;

#2 if visible on top could be cleaned with cotton buds and household alcohol. You need to re-lube when it has dried up;

Additionally, a can of compressed air would also be of help in removing any dust or foreign materials inside the disc mechanism.

#3 would require the services of a qualified professional.

Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards.

Thank you for using FixYa.

Emerson PD6810 CD Boombox Error

My older model PD6810 had the spindle that holds the CD on the player missing causing the ER message to show and the player to stop working.
