Question about Pioneer SD-P50A5-K 50" Rear Projection Television

Pioneer SD-P4573-K Pictures tints yellow intermittently

While watching programs the screen display will suddenly change and look like a yellow film has been pasted over the transmitted image. there is no distortion of the images. no static, no scan line interruption or digital effect, just the overall change in color. after random periods of time, commercials, length of operation, channel flipping, etc. the image will again return to normal. the overall effect is similar to looking through amber lens driving glasses.

when this odd activity first appeared, the length of "yellow time" was extremely long maybe lasting several hours once the symptom occurred. as time has progressed, these "yellow time" periods have decreased significantly in individual duration (only several minutes), but have become more frequent in their occurrence. yet, the display can be totally unhampered all evening as well.

if it is a problem on RGB board as suggested, is it worth fixing ? are the parts available ?

all cables have been checked. what else could be causing this ?

Thank you to the gurus !

this effect was being caused by a faulty RGB board. the blue gun was fine, just not firing properly.

thanks to the gurus that pegged it. made for a short, no-nonsense confirmation by a visiting technician.

It is a common problem on the Pioneer PTV.

Can be either Cables and/or RGB board, however if you are adventurous and confident of dismantling this may be worth a try

It sounds like your red and green tubes are acting up like they are trying to go out on you. i would have it looked at before they do go out. the red and the green are what would give it the yellow look

That means that one of the CRT is failing, or that there is a problem on the RGB board that controls the color obn your TV.

Ensure also that this is not a cable problem, by moving and replacing the cable that connects to the receiver.

My polaroid pictures are coming out blank?

I assume they are coming out almost completely white. Here are some guesses based on my experience with 4x5 Polaroid film from decades ago. Things may have changed.

First guess: This type of film has small packets of chemicals that are popped open and spread by rollers in the camera. These chemicals develop the film. If the pinch roller's no longer squeeze tightly enough, the film will come out white. Try googling your camera name and rollers to see if others have this problem.

Second guess: Another possibility is the film was not stored properly or expired. Have you tried replacing the film?

Third guess: Not likely, because I expect this camera is fully automatic, but are you able to adjust shutter speed or aperture? The images may be over exposed if shutter speed is slow. Are there mode settings like A, T and M? If so, put the camera into A mode. When you press the button do you hear a fast and immediate click-click, or do you hear a click followed by another click shortly after?

Pioneer SD-P55A5 shut off during use and wont advance past standby mode

This is a problem related to the hue controlls in the TV. It is quite common.

Fix: You can go into the TV settings and try adjusting the hue/tint there.

If adjusting settings does not work, request help from a technician to fix it for you since it will take adjusting the hue internally and if you do not do it correctly it can damage your television.

I hope this helps ya!

We are trying to find a free schematic, or owner's manual, repair manual for Pioneer SD-P4573-K. Do you know anywhere that these can be found?

Speaking from experience, you can find a repair manual on the internet in PDF which costs around $25.00. The owners manual does not have any schematics. What is your particular dilemma? You might want to post an email account so that is would be possible to compare versions

Projector displaying yellow tint in center of screen.

The yellow tint is probably coming from the lens. It could be that the glass is tempered or possibly just needs to be cleaned.

Yellow tint on right half of hdtv screen

The would be due to a faulty inverter that controls how much power is give to the display at a time so when these go out you will see this tint or black. So you can replace the inverter or bring it into a shop and have it replaced.

Monitor displaying yellow tint

Try this. Worked for me immediately, including with PhotoShop

  1. Go to Color Management (in Vista, just click the Windows Orb / Start Search & type in Color Management)
  2. On Devices, select your display (repeat if you have multiple ones... at least I did). e.g., Syncmaster ....
  3. Check the box: Use my settings for this device
  4. Select any and all profiles you have and Remove them.
Check to see if that fixed it. You may need to restart. I didn't have to.
