Question about Frigidaire FEF336BC Electric Kitchen Range

Oven Not Working

I have a Frigidaire Electric unit, the top burners work, the broiler works, but when I set it to bake it stays on preheat but it's not heating up, what could that be? I used it the other day and after preheating it beeped 3 times to let me know it was ready and all was well. Then I tried the past 2 nights and nothing.

The top comes on when I set it to broil on either high or low setting. Not sure if its convention or not we just moved into this place and stove was already there it looks rather new too. Is the element the bar at the bottom that can be moved around a little bit? I dont have a roast option.

I think it's the bake element. Found one for $40 haven't bought it yet. Stove is like 1 1/2 years old didn't think they'd go out that fast. So I will see this weekend :) thanks for checking

It could be the element, but if neither the top or bottom element are coming on, it could be an issue with the electronics... Have you tried any of the other oven functions? Is it a convection oven? Maybe try using the convection bake or roast/convection roast functions..(roast function doesn't go through a pre-heat cycle, I have the same stove). If it's still under warranty, I would be calling for service.

Have you tried setting it to bake at the highest temp it will go? If you do this and only the top element comes on then it's most likely the bottom element that needs to be replaced. Try checking the uesr manual (if you have one, if not, you might be able to download it from the internet). I'll try a few things with mine to see how exactly the bake function works on its highest temp and get back to you. :)

The only thing that comes to mind is a burnt element. It is designed to move around a bit to facilitate cleaning the bottom of the oven. If I remember correctly, the bake function cycles back and forth between the bottom and top elements, starting with the bottom. (In mine at least). It's essentially a "used" stove, so if feasible, try installing a new element and see what happens.. Just use a Robertson (square) screwdriver to undo the screws holding the element in place, then you "should" be able to pull it straight out. Install the new one and tighten up the screws. Set it to bake as usual.. Hopefully it works..

Hi Brian, thank you for your post!

Sounds like the either both bake and broiler element may be faulty or a potential wiring failure to the elements. You may want to connect with a local servicer who will be best equipped to pinpoint the problem. If you don't know a qualified technician, you can use the service locator option on the manufacturer site to find one near you.

My gas oven (Frigidaire Gallery) is not preheating or coming up to temperature. The broiler and stove top burners work fine.

Most probable cause is a weak bake burner ignitor,if you can remove the floor of the oven and see a orange glow but within one minute thier is no flame the ignitor that glows is weak and needs to be replaced,if no glow at all ,if your capable find the 2 wires to the bake ignitor, using a volt meter set to AC volts there should be 120vac to the ignitor. If their is 120 vac and absolutly no glow the ignitor is cracked and needs to be replaced,if their is not 120 vac it could be the gas safety valve or control
