Question about KitchenAid Superba Architect KSCS25INSS Side by Side Refrigerator

1 Answer

We have a KitchenAid [KSRG25FKSS03]. We turned the ice maker off for a period of time and recently turned the switch back to the on position, but now no water is flowing from the black rubber outlet into the ice machine. Thus - no water inflow into ice machine, no ice being made. Any advice? THx.

I turned off the ice maker when the basket became full.  Now it won't work at all.  No water into the ice making unit, but water does flow through the on door water dispenser.

The people at Kitchen Aid were not helpful at all - it will cost $81 for the service call plus $19 for each fifteen minutes that the repair man is here.

I don't feel like spending a couple of hundred bucks to have them try to sell me a new door.

    help.

Sounds to me that the water inlet line is frozen. If you feel of the black rubber outlet, it will probably have ice in it causing it not to pour water in thus no ice production, Remove your door that is in front of the ice maker and use a blow dryer and thaw the line. Hot water can be squirted up in the line to thaw it quicker and do a more efficient job. Once you clear the line then your no ice days should be over. It may do it again and if it does then you will need to do the same thing again adding replacement of the water inlet valve.

Why do we hear a water draining noise on kitchenaid superba?

Hello Mari;

My name is Peter. I am a retired field service refrigeration technician.

You have a condensate drain in the back bottom of your freezer for when you go through a self defrost mode. The defrost mode is so gradual there is not enough water flow to make a noise.

What you are hearing is your ice maker filling with water. Your ice maker will fill 8-10 times within a 24 hour period.

No water to icemaker Kitchenaid french door KFIS25XVMS9

There is several reasons that could cause this. First if your ice maker has a switch turn it off for about 15 seconds then turn it back on then the push the ice control paddle in 3 times. This should start the "harvest", reach up under the ice maker it should start to fell warm to hot which is good. Soon the kick out fingers will start to rotate. If it all is working well it will kick out the ice, then fill with water. If this all works but no water, then it could be a bad water fill solenoid valve, kink in the water line, water filter, frozen supply line. Let me tell you this is at times will have you scratching your head, so have fun.

FRS26ZNH - Ice maker arm is stopped half way through process. Arm will move to lock position, and back down half way. No ice is impeding harvest finger movement. Water was shutoff for a period of time, and...

I believe you will need to unplug, remove and dry out your ice maker and carefully disassemble and try to get everything back to the home position without losing parts. It sounds like your ice maker stopped mid cycle when power failed. Then froze in place at present location. Ice makers have a series of about six stages once they begin cycling. A cam and relay switches guide it to the next step. Yes, you can fix it yourself and you will need to guide and get all parts to align to where you see it setting most times when you open freezer door. I call that home position and if empty in that position it calls for water for about 7.5 seconds. Tedious but I will try to assist you. Sea Breeze

Kitchenaid kscs25fjss01 (2002) front panel not working

Hi

If  The ice maker has completely stopped producing ice Check to see whether the ice maker has been turned off. Here's how to check. Look for a wire along the right side of the ice maker that looks a bit like a coat hanger. If this wire is in the raised position, the ice maker is turned off. On some units you simply lower the wire to the down position to turn the ice maker on. On others, you lower a small red plastic lever to lower the wire. If the wire is in the proper position check the freezer temperature, it should be between 0-8 degrees Fahranheit. If it is warmer than 10-12 degrees, the ice maker may not produce any ice. Check your door seals and thermostat, repair/replace as necessary.

The ice maker is producing ice poorly When an ice maker is producing ice poorly--when it produces just a few cubes or none, or when the cubes are too small--it's usually because of a clogged water line or a defective water inlet valve.

First, check the water line attached to the back of the refrigerator for good water flow. To do that, first turn off the water supply valve. Then remove the water line from the back of the refrigerator. Next, place the water line into a bucket and momentarily turn the water valve back on to test the flow. If the flow is poor, you need to repair, clean, or replace the tubing or the shut-off valve that supplies the water. If the flow is good, you may have to replace the water inlet valve.

Please do rate the solution and revert for further assistance.

Thanks

Kitchen Aid Ice maker Stopped working

I would suggest not buying a KitchenAid. I have the same problem with my ice maker. Have had nothing but problems with every KitchenAid product that I have ever owned. I will never purchase another KitchenAid product.

All of there appliances are second rate. That is "The KitchenAid Difference"
