Problem caused by PL-2303 USB-to-Serial Port Adapter This problem was caused by a compatibility issue between this version of Windows and PL-2303 USB-to-Serial Port Adapter.
This product is usually distributed by the company that manufactured your device or computer.
Note
If you bought PL-2303 USB-to-Serial Port Adapter from a retailer and installed it yourself, you will need to contact its manufacturer.

SOURCE: mass storage device

I suspect that the "Portable Media Serial Number Service" local service is not running.

You can check this by opening the Control Panel<AdministrativeTools<Services. Look for the above service and make sure it is running. If not set it for "Automatic" and click the "Apply" button, then "Start" by right clicking the service and click "Properties".

Let me know if this works!

SOURCE: nexxtech product bought with no programing for windows vista

You will find many programs (and therefore hardware devices) that are NOT supported by Vista. Many drivers have not been written yet. You very well will not find any drivers that work with this device.

How to open APC UPB10 battery pack to change the chargeable battery?

1. Remove front cover by sliding front panel down.
2. Install 4 new AAA (LR03) batteries (sold separately) and replace cover.
3. Turn unit on by sliding ON/OFF switch towards USB port. LED will
illuminate.
4. Plug USB charging cable (sold separately) into the Emergency Power Pack's USB port.
5. Plug the other end into your mobile device. (Make sure you do this last, as a few devices will not recognize the charge otherwise). Your device is now being charged

I had an alarm on 9390 which read : "Battery Test Fail". What would possibly cause it and how would I best prevent it from reoccuring.

This error indicates that the battery packs are no longer able to supply the expected run time or load capacity that the UPS needs. The batteries will need to be replaced.

Hi, cannot open Hyundai USB storage key 2.2GB

The light flashing when wiggled sounds like your USB connection is intermittent, and your key is made unusable (as if you had pulled it without stopping first) until you reformat it. Try it in another USB port. See if you can tell whether it is the computer side or the key side that is flaky. Could be at the port inside the computer case. Fix or replace whichever is bad.

APC Back UPS 350 ES won't run on battery power.

>> I'm having the same problem with mine. I get 122 volts when plugged into the wall, and it tells me that I get less than 1 min of use once I unplug, and it actually lasts for 10 seconds before getting a screeching sound.

The screeching sound is normal. Its telling you "HEY, I HAVE NO POWER. THIS IS A PROBLEM." and trying to attract as much attention as possible. It will also do that if you run a self test with the software and the test fails.

Its been a while since I worked on these during an outage, but I believe there is a way to use the software (PowerChute business edition, if you're using a SmartUPS. There is a personal version with less features for other home models) to silence the alarm. I think some of them had a button you could push on the unit to silence it as well, but look this up first. Push the wrong one and it powers everything down.

Normal 0 Try disconnecting the Mouse Receiver from the USB port and reinstall the CD software program. When the program asks you to connect the Mouse Receiver to the USB port, do so and it should work.

Connection problem with msr206

1. Try plug in the device to the back of your computer instead of the front USB port (this is because some computers don't have enough power in the front USB ports) 2. Some USB 2.0 device are not backward compatible with USB 1.1 ports. Try plugging in with USB 1.1 and 2.0 port to see that's the cause of the problem.
3. Try downgrade all your USB port from 2.0 down to 1.1, you can do that in your BIOS.
4. if all failed, try the USB device on a different computer. Then you can determine if the USB device or the USB port is the culprit of the problem
also, if you can't find your solution here, you might be able to find it on the link below...

Desk top APC UPS ES750 not communicating

Here is an answer I got from APC when one of my client got the same problem as you did:

The error message would pop up if the link between the computer and the UPS is weak. I cannot rule out a problem with the cable or the UPS. In order to confirm the same please try the following steps which might help :

1) Ensure that the USB cable is properly connected to the USB port of the computer.

2) If the PC was powered on before the UPS, communication will not be achieved until you disconnect and reconnect the USB cable to the host. In this case, you need to disconnect and reconnect the USB cable to establish communication.

3) Some other software is polling your USB port for another device, thus causing the UPS software to temporarily lose communication with your UPS. If this is the case, you would need to shut down that application.

4) If you have any other USB devices connected to the PC, disconnect them and then try plugging in the cable.

If the issue persists, please visit the following link which lists few troubleshooting steps :

I/O DEVICE ERROR

I/0 error, IS AN INPUT/OUTPUT ERROR. this device is formatted as FAT32 as it is usable on all OS. however if you formatt it to the faster, safer NTFS format, it will only work on 2000, XP etc. so firstly is the device being "seen" by windows? as in does the plug and play connect device sound play? or the green arrow and card icon appera in the bottom left corner? if it doesnt your computer may not have a mass storage device installed, or a driver for it, go into your device managment and click rescan plug and play and if nothing comes up click, view hidden devices, and select the correct driver, by either manually selecting the mass storage or Hdd driver or letting windows find one on the net or locally. if this still doesnt fix things, be aware that external HDD us ealot of power, and some USB ports dont give enough power for the HDD to wind up enough speed to operate. try using a different port, 2.0 not 1.0 as i have found power draw issues with 1.0 USB and/or get a shorter, foot long or less cable. good luck.
