On your motherboard there is a small battery called a CMOS battery. It looks like a small watch battery. This battery is what keeps a small amount of electricity on the motherboard when your computer is shut off so it can keep the right time and date. So the CMOS battery is losing power, consequently your time is off. So need to get the battery changed and it will be back to normal.

Hope this helps; please don't forget to vote on this solution. Thanks.

The Time Zone may not be set correctly.

Your particular clock probably has an identifiable control for selecting the time zone you're in.

The RTC (Real Time Clock) battery charges when the computer in on (operating). You can plug the electrical cord in and let the computer run for 24 hours by temporarily suspending any sleep mode or automatic power saving features. This should sufficiently charge the RTC battery.

Laptop keeps losing power at start up and shuts down repeatedly

does it run with the power cord plugged in? if so your batterys dead, otherwise harddrive/bios/motherboard fault? is your power supply charging the battery?

Computer clock

Not sure if this will help as my previous experience is that the clock starts at 12:00 each time it is started up.

In my case it was a flat computer battery that keeps the BIOS active when shut down, hence it was losing all it's settings each time it was shut down.

Note: This does not explain the looping, so this answer may be one "just to try" if no other answers come up.
