You probably have a "door" sensor indicating it's open..

The doors to check are:
- cartridge bay door
- rear duplexer or back panel (is it in place?)
- top hinged flap.

That would be the attention light.... Indicates that the input tray is empty, the print- cartridge door is open, or bad toner. Is there any lights that are on solid or flashing? (could also have a bad fuser ... need to trouble shoot this a little more)
If you hit the green button does it do anything?

No network access. Can not ping. Solid amber light on top and solid green on bottom on NIC card.

Have you printed a configuration page to see if it reset the IP address?
If the IP has not somehow changed, then try simply removing and reseating the network boards. Pretty easy to do, remove the screws and just slide the assembly out and back in to clean the contacts.
If those two things dont fix it then the NIC board is bad. Pretty rare that that board fails.

Error message E 2 's flashing .. what should i do?

If the alarm light is solid amber E2 indicates a paper feed error.
This can usually be cleared easily.
If the Power light and Alarm light are flashing green and amber then the E2 indicates an error requiring Canon servicing might have incurred.. If after disconnection it reappears then it looks like a bin job as nobody on the internet appears to have any solution for this one and anything involving Canon would be as much as a new printer.

when i turn the printer on the light flashes amber several times, then green then repeats flashing amber, and back to green etc. turning it off and back on made no difference. last time it worked normally after being off for a couple of days, but now it is doing that again.

Amber light flashes 7 times, then green for a couple of seconds, then amber 7 times etc.

Canon i950 won't print

try this Probably your waste ink counter. Should be cleaned or replaced before resetting but usually you can get away with resetting once.
1. Start with printer OFF
2. Hold down RESUME and then hold down POWER
3. Release RESUME
4. press RESUME twice, then release POWER
5. let green light blink until printhead has finished moving.
6. Select functions below with RESUME, execute with POWER

0 presses - green light - Test Print (exit service for i960)
1 press - orange light - EEPROM info print
2 presses - green light - EEPROM initialise
3 presses - orange light - reset waste ink counter.

After print once, the on/off light is solid amber with P in windo

What you should try first is going to kodak.com/go/printheadsupport and get instructions on how to reinstall  the printhead (because there is obviously a problem with it). If after that, you still have the same problem, you can either go to kodak.com/go/itg and follow the troubleshooting, or call their tech assistance at 1 800 421 6699 to help you resolve this problem.
The worst of the cases, would be that you printhead needs to be replaced, which would be completely free.

Canon i320 amber light flashing will not print

I believe that 7 amber flashes refer to a cartridge error. Check that the cartridge is seated correctly.
