What are the supported file types on CineVision DVR2000?

E.g. are VOB files accepted? if so, in a CD-R or a DVD?
I'm not sure if its Toshiba or CompUSA, since both these companies have a product of the same name (?) i.e. CineVision DVR2000. Can someone pl. clarify this for me. As such, I didn't find Toshiba written anywhere on the player but not sure of the other. anyway, i don't think its that important but in case the supported file types may be different, just pointing it out.
if someone has the manual, could you please give me the link via rapidshare or something else? it would be appreciated!!

Video formats (and disk types) supported are listed in OM. However, check them - sometimes the're not working.

Have you initialised the disk? The manual states that for the first use a DVD-RW has to be initialised first.

SOURCE: How can I unlock the Regional Code on my Toshiba SD-V392?

A lot of DVD players can be unlocked by using an event sequence. For example, open dvd draw, close the dvd draw, open it it again, put a number in with the remote and hit 0. If you can find an instruction sequence like that it's a lot simpler and easier.

There aren't any, your brand isn't supported on your Toshiba remote. The only thing you can do is to try all the other codes, maybe you're lucky and one of them will.

Can not play vod file on computer oops , I meant VOB files on my DVD movie, or why did MS media player fail, as all do.(OOBE)

I assume you mean VOB. I have not heard of a VOD file...

If you have gotten your hands on a VOB file somehow, chances are they have been copied/extracted from a DVD. VOB stands for DVD Video Object and is the core file of a DVD containing the actual movie data, an MPEG movie stream and the supported audio.
To play the VOB files, you need to have a DVD player that supports VOB format. However, if you have the Windows Media Player (version 12 or higher) or VLC Media Player, it is good enough to play the file. Note that you will see a prompt telling you that it is an unsupported format, don't worry about it and just play it anyways. It will play just fine.
If you want to obtain the VOB file from a DVD for some reason, just open the DVD in Windows Explorer instead of playing it through a media player. The VOB file would most likely be under the VIDEO_TS folder. Some other files that you will also see in the folder are IFO and BUP. The IFO files are the information files containing meta data about the DVD and instructions for the DVD player on how to handle the disc. The BUP file is simply a backup copy of IFO files.
If you want to convert VOB file to AVI or a similar format, aviNET is a great tool to do that

Unable to read mkv and avi video files from usb drive on philips dvp5990 dvd player

what error does it give? mine reads avis fine, as long as theyre within resolution limits. same for windows media format. couldnt get the mkv files to work though. the usb drive has to be formatted fat32, ntfs does not seem to work. burning these files to dvd as a data disc is another option. lets you fit 10+ hours of video on the disc vs your standard 2 or 4 hour max limits.

Can't import vob files into windows movie maker

To use Vob files with movie maker, they need to be converted first. This can take a little while, but there is no other way, as windows doesn support dvd playback by default, and whilst codecs will give you playback, movie maker will not accept them, even with the codecs. To convert your vob files to "avi" (the format needed for movie maker) yoou will need converting software. Most of this is very expensive, but thankfully, one of the best is actually free! It's name is "super" and it can be found at the following web address http://www.erightsoft.com/S6Kg1.html
By the way, the download link is at the bottom of the page.

Dvr2000

if its not a logic board issue, then its a read head issue. i would try everything else first, and then take the outer case off and physically clean the laser emitter / read head, and look for debris in the track the read head follows from center to edge of the disc.
if anyone else has a better suggestion that is not as invasive, try it first.
good luck

DVD player cant read DVD media

.Vob files contain audio, video and subtitles all together. However, most MPEG-2-capable DVD players don't support subtitle tracks. I guess your DVD player is in the mentioned majority. That's why you can only play them in your computer drive.
