Re: selecting source for 3000f

Hi, a possible explanation why the CanoScan 3000F does not show in the Source Box selection is because Windows does not recognize it as being connected. To check, you have to go to Device Manager, Imaging Devices, expand it and see if the CanoScan 3000F is installed. If it is not there, then you would have to reinstall the drivers. Another possibility is a faulty USB cable or the USB port connector itself. Try a different cable or a different USB port. Another way of looking at it is that you were able to install the scanning software but not the actual driver(s) of the scanner. Hope this be of help to you. Good luck and pls post again how things turn up.

Scanner will not form feed

There is an option in the dialog box where you select the paper source either ADF (chute) or flatbed. The options differs depending whether you are using twain interface for scanning or isis.
You need to select the proper source. If the paper source is correct then, probably, the paper sensor in the chute unit is not operating properly.

Give this a try (found online):

Download Irfanview:

Open the main app "i_view32.exe"

With the scanner hooked up, click onto the "file" (tab)

Click "Select TWAIN Source .." and select your scanner in the source box (if it is listed, the driver is functioning)

Click file (tab) then "Acquire"

Hope this helps.

Film scaning options are missed in Select Source

I had the same problem. My solution is: "Just go to settings on Canoscan Toolbox. Then go to copy button, drop down and select scan2. This comes "Copy" as default setting. Change it to scan2. Click ok. On Canoscan toolbox main interface click scan2 and bingo, you'll see film option on select source . Hope this works

When i am going to scan at that time in the screen select the twin source. what is the twin source of canon canoscanlide25

The prompt is probably asking you for the TWAIN source to use. In that box, simply select the Canon TWAIN source. If one isn't present, install the TWAIN drivers for this scanner.

Hope that helps,

Can't copy or scan on canoscan lide 25

You need to install the software drivers You need BOTH programs installed on your PC, Toolbox & Scangear. Also use the driver remover first. Then unplug scanner, reboot, install Scangear first, and toolbox second, then reboot, when at desktop next time, plug in the Scanner. Hopefully it should be all good. Read the Help file.

Can't find twain source

The Twain source is the Picture or Photo program First I do not think your Scanner will run on XP because i have one and i have tried the original drivers Second I got my scanner running on an old computer with Win 2000 and had to use two sets of drivers FB330P/FB630P & FB630U/Fb636V then I open MS Photo editor and Click on FILE then go down to select source and click on the second entry of the scanner the go FILE Scan Image If you not not have MS Photo editor it may work with other programs

How do i scan film on my scanner

You should be able to download the manual.

To scan film, you'll need to first remove the white cover on the underside of the scanner lid. That is where the backlight is. Also, you must be using the ScanGear driver and NOT the WIA driver. The WIA driver does not support film scanning. Locate your film guides. These are the templates that will hold the film and are placed on the scanner glass to be scanned. Lastly, there should be a Select Source option in the scanner driver that allows you to select Film as the source.

Hope this helps.

Your post for CanoScan LiDE 25

Hi there, yes I did everything per your instructions, Toolbox is installed and it still says, "release the lock switch, detach I/F cable and reconnect. Scanner driver will be closed" and then after clicking on that it says "Unable to open TWAIN source. Please check connection then restart toolbox" I have been to the Canon site and downloaded driver sites and it says everything is working. but when I go to scan it comes up with the boxes I said before. Quite lost at the moment? Thanks Maureen. PS I have unstalled and reinstalled
