No start black screen green led is on for 10 sec

The most common reasons are the battery, power adapter/cord and power jack.

If you move/wiggle the power adapter at the point where it connects to the laptop, and the power goes off and on, the power jack is the problem.

The power jack is inside the laptop and either needs soldering or replacement.

If no change, the power adapter is probably faulty and needs replacement.

Also, power off and remove the battery. If the laptop powers on with just the adapter connected, your battery is faulty.

Hope this helps.

I shut the laptop without shutting it down and now it won't turn on. the A button flashes for 15 seconds but doesn't come on. I've pressed every button to get it to work but nothing happens.

Try to turn off the pc, then remove the cables and battery to it.
Press and hold the power button for 10 secs.
Reinsert battery and cables to it.
Turn it on, and if it is still the same problem, you need to call your pc manufacturer for possible repair of the laptop's motherboard or power supply..

Nothing is shown on my Dell Latitude D510 laptop when it is attached to power. No leds, nothing.

1st try a known good AC adapter, see if any change. 2nd, remove all drives, battery, external devices, RAM and wireless cards and see if system powers on and gives memory beep code error. If no change, replace motherboard. If you get beeps, power off, install a RAM module, see if system posts. If it does, add items till you identify the failed component. If no go, replace motherboard. Motherboards are roughly $150 on EBay

My dell d510 latitude battery light flashes green once then red three times Please help me Thanks colin

The battery is beginning to fail. After about 18 months or so the battery performance will begin to degrade. A battery replacement is most likely in order.

No power to the laptop when plugged in

Turn the laptop off and remove the battery and AC power. Clean the brass contacts on the battery and the laptop.
Plug in AC power only and see if the laptop boots up without the battery, go into the BIOS and set the BIOS to default settings. Save the changes and let the laptop boot into Windows. Once in Windows power down the laptop again and remove the AC power.
Reinsert the battery and AC power and boot the laptop up. See if that has helped.

Good luck.
