Cozy Natural Gas Console Heater Burner Turns Off and On Every 10 Minutes
We just installed a Cozy Natural Gas Heater VC201A. We turn it on to Maximum Heat setting, but the burner only stays on 5 to 10 minutes, goes out, then comes back on in about 10 minutes. It is not staying on long enough to warm the room. Do we maybe need to replace the thermostat or change the thermostat position. Any ideas? Thanks.

could have a faulty gas valve which may let in to much gas.extra load from the stove may be correcting this.
to much gas /too rich a mixture can affect internal temperatures causing thermostats to fail.
does the stove burn a nice strong bright blue flame?.
if uit is newer than 2005 it has a honeywell gas valve which should open slowly if unit is older than 2005 has a robershaw valve which opens at 40 % for 10 to 15 secs than opens up to 100%
You might have a slight odor of gas when the burner first ignites. Some gas does escape before it completely ignites. It shouldn't smell after 2 years of use. If you can see the pilot flame burning from the top of the heater, the heater pilot assembly is pushed over too far. The pilot fumes could be escaping in the room and cause a smell.
