Do you know now the password for your wireless??

If no then on the PC/laptop that it was orginally installed-click on start and run and type cmd which will open up command prompt.

Type in the black box -ipconfig...

Whatever the IP address is for your default gateway type it in Internet explorer which will open up your wireless router settings and you should be able to open up wireless security and find out what your password is..

When this is done disconnect from your wireless on the dell laptop and after disconnecting connect to your wireless again and enter your password and see if that fixes things.

Thanks

Sophia

How to reconnect HP Chromebook to internet thru desk computer and router.

The Chromebook has a wireless network interface.
So, it does not connect to your computer.
Instead, it connects to your wireless router.
If you do not remember that password for your wireless network,
you need to "reset" your router to its "factory-settings", and then recreate the name of your wireless network, and enter a new password, to define it.

How to connect one laptop to another via your wireless cards using windows 7

first of all, this connection is used for sharing media or even sharing a valid internet connection....... now if you go open network and sharing centre, click on set up a new connection or network, scroll down to set up a wireless ad hoc (computer to computer) network, click next and read some information about this connection then click next, once you click next you can name you connection to what ever you like and you can also set up you security type, once you have done this you can choose to save the network. if you do not save the network it will not show up after you have used it. the finally click next and your computer will set up the network. now on the computer you DID NOT set the network on search for wireless devices and click on your device that you set up, enter the password (if you set one) and enjoy!!! also this can be done via two desktop computers if they both have wireless cards!!!!

Turn on wifi

If you are trying to connect a desktop wirelessly ?
Your desktop may already enjoy a wired broadband Internet connection, but a Wi-Fi connection will afford you greater latitude in Internet use. Wires will not be necessary, so you can establish your PC in any room or area of your home or office and still stay connected to the Internet. Fortunately, you only need a wireless router, broadband modem, and ethernet cable to make this Wi-Fi connection. Disconnect your modem from the wall socket it's plugged into. Connect the ethernet cable to the back of the modem. There is a clearly marked ethernet port here. This port will appear to be an overd telephone jack. Connect the other end of the ethernet cable to the ethernet port on the back of the wireless router. This port will look exactly the same as the one on the rear of the modem. Plug the broadband modem back up to the wall socket and wait for it to power on, initialize and detect its new connection to the wireless router. Locate the manual that shipped with your wireless router. Find the URL, or web address, that is contained within the pages of this manual. This special web address is used to set up your router's network and security permissions. Also, be sure to locate the default password provided within the pages of the manual. Enter the URL into your web browser and allow the page to load. When prompted, enter the password that you found within the instruction manual. Begin setting up your new wireless network. You will be asked for an "SSID," which is just a moniker for your new network. This will be the name seen when the network is listed in an available network list. Choose whatever name you like. Select a password for your new network. While encrypting your network is optional, it is highly recommended. Along with the password, choose "WPA" security encryption. "WEP" will also be an option but it is an older security protocol that is technologically inferior to WPA. Click "Apply" to save your changes. Click on the wireless icon on the right-hand side of the bottom toolbar on your PC's desktop. Select your network's SSID from the drop-down list. Enter the password you chose for your network. You will now be connected to WiFi Internet on your PC desktop and free to browse the Web. Hope this helps.

Hello, i have an hp laptop. my family and i just moved and purchased a new wi fi router. my step dad's laptop can connect without a problem, mine will not. i've tried everything except completely wipping...

Most computers connect to a WiFi network automatically.
Please make sure the wireless in your computer is turned on. There should be a button with an indicator light near your keyboard, just switch it on.

Alternatively open your start menu and find "network" or "internet connections". There should be an option for wireless that you can select. Wireless connections will be scanned and you will need to select from a list of options to connect to. Once you click it you will be connected to your home WiFi Network.

If your network has a password your will need to enter the Network Name (Called SSID) and the Password in the Wireless Connection Wizard.

This will resolve the issue you are facing.
I will look forward to your feedback and positive rating.

Have Dell Inspiron 1501 had to reformat hard drive and reloaded all system programs and drivers but cannot connect to wireless router. Could connect before reformat and other laptop connects to router...

Dell has a nasty habit of making you go to their website to get some of the drivers. Check to make sure your wireless card's drivers are there (probably not). Right click My Computer>Properties>Hardware>Device Manager. I'm betting you'll find a yellow circle with a black exclamation point under your Network Adapters. If so, go to the Dell site for your drivers, download and install. It'll be recognized automatically. Let me know if this doesn't work. If it does, please rate me accordingly!

Please can you tell me how to setup a huawei EchoLife HG520b Broadband wireless router. Thanks

You need to follow the below steps to enable you to go wireless, connect your PC and Router via the Ethernet cable.

1. Open any web browser and in the address bar type 192.168.1.1 and press Enter.
2. You will now get a login screen appear, the username and password to access the router is " admin "
3. Click on Basic then Wireless LAN.
4. Make sure Access Point is set to enable.
5. SSID is your Network name and can be changed to anything you like.
6. Make sure Broadcast SSID is enabled.
7. Set Authentication type to WPA
8. Set a password in the Pre-Shared key section between 8-64 letters/numbers long-this is your wireless password, keep this safe as only you have access to this password.
9. Click submit at the bottom of the page.

Your router has now been setup for wireless and is protected by WPA security.

To Allow your PC to connect wireless:

1. Remove your ethernet cable and turn on your wireless on your PC.
2. In the bottom right hand corner of your PC right click on your wireless icon and select "view wireless networks in range"
3. You should see your wireless connection because the SSID should be displayed.
4. Right click on your network and enter the wireless password and then click connect (If right clicking brings up no options then double left click).
5. You should now be connected in a wireless state.

To Allow your MAC to connect wireless:

Please first update the MAC, click the apple top right and update software.

1. Remove your ethernet cable and turn on your wireless on your MAC.
2. Top right click on the airport icon.
3. You should see your wireless connection because the SSID should be displayed.
4. Click on your network and enter the WPA password and then click connect.
5. You should now be connected in a wireless state and the airport icon will turn black.

If you have not yet entered your ppp details (username and password for internet connection) select basic and then wan settings you can change all the settings for your connection here

Hope this helps
