Question about RCA D61W20 61" Rear Projection Television

1 Answer

RCA D61W20B I have the same problems with my RCA D61W20B. I press the power button, it tries to power up 3 times, then nothing, but if you keep trying about 4 times, it powers up and works fine. I get no squealing noise, just hear a very light tick when the green light on the power switch lights up. When it does come on you hear the what I think are the tubes powering up, a very light cracking noise, kinda like the noise the older glass tube tvs made. This is a great tv when its working. I actually got it for free, it was being thrown out at a tv repair shop and I stopped to inquire about it. The guy said it was deemed to expensive to repair. It looks brand new, I brought it home. I tinker with stuff alot, so I removed the rear panels blew out some dust, dead bugs, unplugged and plugged in wires, then the set came on. When I do get it to turn on it will run all day with no problems. The condition it was in and the way it operates, it seems too nice to toss out. I have owned many RCA products and have had good service from them. Do you think this could be capacitor or weak solder joint?

I removed the rear cover and found that cp150 is puffed up on the top a little. What are the part numbers for each capacitor?

Does anyone sell remanufactured deflection boards?

  • Anonymous May 07, 2009

Same problem as the others with the deflection board.

Is there a manufacturer? Where can I get the part?

On the Deflection board CK capacitors cp150,cp114 cp120,If cp 150 is puffed up on top it is bad so replace all 3 capacitors 2200uf 16 use 25v and Two left are 220uf 35v Resolder pinns on flyback Transfomer and when re hooking board back up make sure you have second ribbon connector in good. Board next to Deflection is the SSB it has turners on it where you hook cable.

Cost of Rebulit Deflection Board was 197.00 sure it has gone up since then, anyway replace those 3 capacitors and your set will be Fixed.Radio Shack might have capacitors 2200uf 25v on other 2 caps 220uf 35v.

How do I turn on my rca tablet I tried everything I put on the charger , I keep my hand on the power botton it still wont turn on please help me

You need to do a factory reset, follow these instructions:

Step 1. With your tablet turned off, press and hold the volume up (+) button. While holding the volume up (+) button, press the tablet's power button until you see the RCA logo with Nipper and Chipper on the screen. After a few seconds, the screen will change and you will see the Android bot on his back with a caution symbol above him.

Step 2. Now you are going to press and hold the tablet's power button, and without releasing the power button press down on the volume up (+) button. You should then see the screen below.

Step 3. Use the tablet's volume up (+) and down (+) keys to navigate to and select the "wipe data/factory reset" option. To select this option, press the power button.

Step 4. The tablet is going to ask you to confirm your selection. Use the tablet's volume up (+) and down (-) keys to navigate to and select "Yes - delete all user data." Once again, use the power button to select this option.

Step 5. At the bottom of the next screen, you will see "Data wipe complete." Press the power button to restart the system.

Hi i'm having problems programing my universal control

Make sure the device is on. Hold down the tv (or whichever device your trying to program) button and the power button simultaneously until the red light stays on solid. Then press the power button, it will flash one time, and keep pressing slowly letting it flash until the device turns off (mine took like 27 times, could be up to 100). Then press the stop button...and it is programmed.

Dvd code

Try preforming an automatic code search:

1) Make sure the device is on.
2) Hold down the DVD button and the power button simultaneously until the red light stays on solid.
3) Then press the power button - it will flash one time - keep pressing slowly, letting it flash until the device turns off.
4) As soon as the device turns off, press the stop button

If your the remote does not power the device off after cycling through all the codes - You will know this when the power button blinks and deluminates - then your "universal" remote will not work with the DVD player.

The best of luck to you!

Some set display this problem because of bad capacitors in the powersupply. Take a good LOOK at all large caps on the board.
