Compressor should have an internal overload that protects it. New fan blade should be the only part that would need to be replaced. you may have a problem finding that part and it is no small job to disassemble and install the blade not for the weak of heart.

Here is a link to where you may be able to find the part(s) you need. Have your Model Number handy, when searching for the right window adapter or hose end.

It depends on what type ac unit it is. I'm sure if you go to the company website they will be able to tell you if the part is available.

Amana AP148D-RB, Air Conditioner Parts

Not sure if you have fixed yet, but I had the same problem on my AP148D. There are 2 fans, 1 for the condenser (base of unit) and 1 for the evaporator (top of unit). My condenser fan disintigrated. Go to his web site and you will find a parts list for this model, and a distributer list

Call this number and they have the parts in stock : 800-313-8495, mine shipped overnight. The parts are :

AC-8000-27 Wheel-blower condenser $21.81

AC-8000-26 Wheel-blower evaporator $21.81

I suspect you will need the first part. Hope this helps. Be careful to note where all the screws come from when dismantling !!!!

Thirteen and a half month Amana Portable AP125D AC. Last week noise asif something hitting fan, than after trying to determine problem over the next three days the fan at the rear bottom of the unit broke...

Contact the dealer you bought it from.
For warranty information, please call Customer Service at 800.933.2887 (8 am-1 am ET)

If it is out of warranty, and you can get hold of the parts, then as long as you feel confident to change the parts yourself, go ahead. It will only be a case of removing the case and maybe some covers inside to get at the broken components. There is NO rocket science used in the design or building of these things.
All you will need is a small to medium sized phillips head screwdriver and maybe a 7 or 8mm spanner. You may need to cut a couple of cable ties. Make sure you note how the components fit and also the route of the cables as they will need to be routed the same way when you replace the case.
You need to discover what caused the fan to break in the first place. In my experience this cause is normally someone poking something into the grill...

Broken wire from wire housing to top control panel of AC Unit

bad stuff dude, you are going to pay about the same for the part as the unit, unless you learn to bypass that and put it on a light switch, black wire to fan and black wire to compressor on one side of the light switch on the other side the "hot" wire bringing power in, best of luck

Coleman AC compreser work but fan dont

If the selector switch is broken, you need to replace that first. This will cause the fan not to come on if there is an open in it. After replacing the switch, if you still have to fan operation, it is possible that you have a bad fan capacitor, part# 1499-5461, or a bad fan motor, part# 14683099. Replace the capacitor first before spending the money on a motor. An easy way to check is to see if you can start the fan motor by hand while turning it on a the selector switch. If the motor starts this way, replace the capacitor.

Hope this helps,

Air conditioning unit remote control problem

when something is broke you can never break it worse so dig in and look for a stuck button or broken piece of plastic lodged in between the buttons or
you may want to go to: harmony web site and see if your model of a/c is supported these remotes are rather expensive us$129-$499 but much less than replacing the A/C and can control 225,000 devices made by 5000 different manufacturers just about any device under the sun. on the website under device choose home automation then climate control your brand then model number to see if your A/C is there. If you decide to go this route I would reccomend to check all the other devices you have also.
