    semizenkit_0,

    If you can't find the driver for your sound device, than include the name of the sound card & model. All information below pertains to the Intel motherboard, model D945GCNL.

    Your post reads that you are using the Intel D945GCNL motherboard. The link provided does include all drivers, manual & bios file for that motherboard.

    Intel list drivers for, all XP/Pro editions, Vista *62 & 32bit editions, Win 2003 editions.

    For Windows XP editions click on this link;

    http://downloadcenter.intel.com/filter_r...*+XP+Professional&lang=eng&strOSs=44&submit=Go%21

    Under "Drivers" number 5 is the audio driver.

    http://downloadcenter.intel.com/Detail_D...* XP Professional&lang=eng

    For Vista 32bit left click this link;

    http://downloadcenter.intel.com/filter_r...*+32&lang=eng&strOSs=164&submit=Go%21

    Listed under "Drivers" download number 5.

    http://downloadcenter.intel.com/Detail_D... Vista* 32&lang=eng

    If you are unable to download the drivers, suggest you try on another system. These links work. (Tested each one).

    I'll admit after trying to download the driver my self & got caught in a loop of internal Intel sites. The driver you'll need to download is named, (AUD_allOS_5745_PV_RTL.exe). Good for XP Pro with SP3. Create a folder on your desktop & name it audio.

    Click on this next link;

    http://downloadcenter.intel.com/download...

    Than click on "Audio: Realtek* ALC Audio Driver".

    If your using Internet Explorer & have pop-up blocker turned on, watch the menu bar under the address bar or under the link bar. You may notice this message:

    "To help protect your security, Internet Explorer blocked this site from downloading files to your computer. Click here for options."

    Right click once on the light yellow bar (With the message in it),

    & left click, Download file... The download will open. Save the file,

    AUD_allOS_5745_PV_RTL.exe, in to the audio folder you created.

    Once finished, open the audio folder. Double left click the file

    "AUD_allOS_5745_PV_RTL.exe". The file will uncompress its self & create another folder, named " AUD_allOS_5745_PV_RTL".

    Things will move very fast. The file will uncompress right after creating the new folder & will launch the driver installation. This may work correctly. However, if the driver software fails to give you sound for the Intel board. We'll need to install through windows Device manager. Post back here if the driver software does fail & I'll instruct you how to install through windows device manager.

    Hi sinkit, please follow the most recent reply I posted for semizenkit_0. Same for you. From time to time windows needs a more direct install of drivers through windows device manager. if your driver fails, post back here so I can guide you through installing from within windows device manager.

If it is onboard sound you can find the drivers on the Intel website. Just click the support link and then lookup your board. Select the o/s you are running and the drivers will appear. Download and install. If it is a 3rd part soundcard then you'll follow the same steps but at the soundcard manufacturers website. Hope this helps.

My computer cannot detect my multimedia audio controller

Download Microsoft UAA drivers for your O/S
Uninstall your sound drivers through device manager. then install the UAA drivers and REBOOT
then install your sound drivers
The only thing I can think of was you did not reboot after installing UAA drivers
