Windows Error Recovery - ''an une...

my computer crush recently and i was able to restore wondows vista using the system restore option. and some files were automatically updated while connected to the internet. in oder to check if my computer is working good, i reboot the system and to my surprise I had this ''windows error recovery - an unexpected I/O error occured'', I tried to reboot vista in safemode, but windows won't start. I also tried to boot with the last good configuration, still won't boot. and I end up with this message: ''info: an unexpected I/O error occured'? Please help me there are very import files in my computer. Please note that I don't have a recovery disk for this laptop.
