How do I restore my computer using the eRecovery Management program outside of Windows? How do I restore my computer using the eRecovery Management program outside of Windows?
Select models, with Microsoft Windows, have the ability to have the Operating System reinstalled from a hidden partition built into the computer.
Note: During the process, all data stored on your computer will be overwritten. This means all your files, such as email and photos, will be erased. Therefore, we recommend making a backup of all personal data before starting the recovery process.
Note: For video guided assistance using the eRecovery Management program to restore your computer please visit our How do I restore my computer using the eRecovery Management program? answer.

To start the system recovery:

  1. Restart the computer.

  3. If you are prompted with a Microsoft Windows boot screen, press the Enter key.
  4. After the system recovery application has loaded, follow the prompts to reinstall the Operating System.
If the ability to reinstall from the previous method is not available or fails, recovery of the Operating System will need to be from Recovery Media. If you do not have a set of Acer Recovery Media, you may purchase the set online from the Acer Recovery Media Order Form..
Note: If your computer does not have an internal optical disc drive, an external optical disc drive will be required in order to recover the Operating System using Acer Recovery Media.
  1. Restart the computer.
  2. When the Acer logo appears on the screen, press the F12 key repeatedly to enter the computer's Boot Menu.
  3. Press the CD-ROM drive eject button and insert the disc labeled System CD.

  7. When prompted for the Recovery CD, remove the System CD and insert the Recovery CD.
Note: If there are multiple Recovery CDs, please insert the first of the Recovery CDs.

Note: if your computer is unable to run the Acer Recovery process, or errors occur during recovery, please contact Acer support.

My asus f5rl keeps coming up with boot error 0xc000000f when turned on. How can i restore it please?

Before going any further, please help to confirm the following three points:

1. Does any other error message appear when starting the computer?

2. Did the computer start properly before?

3. Have any changes been made on the computer recently, such as an installation or upgrade?

The issue can be caused by many factors, such as incorrect BCD entries and incompatible hardware or software.

Based on the current situation, I suggest trying the following methods to troubleshoot the issue.

Method 1: Startup Repair from the Windows Recovery Environment (WinRE)

===============================================================

1. Insert the Windows Vista installation disc into the disc drive, and then start the computer.

2. Press a key when the message indicating "Press any key to boot from CD or DVD ..." appears.

3. Select a language, a time and currency, and a keyboard or input method, and then click Next.

4. Click Repair your computer.

5. In the System Recovery Options dialog box, choose the drive of your Windows installation and click Next.

6. At the System Recovery Options Dialog Box, click on Repair your computer.

7. Click the operating system that you want to repair, and then click Next.

8. In the System Recovery Options dialog box, click Startup Repair.

Can the computer be started now?

If the issue persists, I would like to confirm if System Restore was enabled before.

If so, we can try to restore the system to a state when your computer worked properly in WinRE.

Method 2: Use the Windows Recovery Environment (WinRE) to run System Restore

=======================================================================

1. Instert the Windows Vista installation disc into the disc drive, and then start the computer.

2. Press a key when the message indicating "Press any key to boot from CD or DVD ...". appears.

3. Select a language, a time and currency, and a keyboard or input method, and then click Next.

4. Click Repair your computer.

5. In the System Recovery Options dialog box, choose the drive of your Windows installation and click Next

6. At the System Recovery Options Dialog Box, click on System Restore.

7. Follow the System Restore Wizard instruction as usual and choose the appropriate restore point.

8. Click Finish to restore the system.

Error 0xc00000e9, and vista no genuine?

That has happened because the files that have been used for the Themes are NOT Microsoft files. Also they are not Digitally Signed as "good" by MS either. This is not really a fault just an indication. What I would do is do a system restore back to a time when PC was A OK.
Startup PC, press F8 at instant of turn on... choose Safe Mode. when you are asked if you want safe desktop or system restore choose restore, when you get to the restore menu, choose a date BEFORE you had problems, in any event, there may only be one or two to choose from. Just follow the instructions and you should be back to working with all that behind you.

When i try to boot my toshiba it goes to a windows error recovery screen.. it has two options fixed problems and start windows normally... neither ones work... and i can't even boot from the windows disc....

Hello and thank you for using Fixya's services.

The only option here is to restore your computer to factory settings. You will lose all of your information including pictures, music, etc.

Are you running Windows Vista? If so, turn the computer on, press F4, choose advanced and you will see the option to do a factory restore. You can aslo try the other options first such as windows restore and it may fix the file.

Last resort is the factory restore but you are at that point.

Please let me know if you have any questions.

.
Try pressing F-8 and look for last known good working configuration.
If you are trying to reload from CD/DVD drive and it continues to boot into your old windows configuration, Enter your BIOS settings, and change the boot order to CD/DVD and then Hard drive
