Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

Trying to remove an app from my macbook. when apps are jiggling , the app does not have a x in order to remove it.

Note that you can remove the icon of an app from the dock by simply dragging it away from the dock, or into the Trash. The app still stays on your computer, usually in the Applications folder. If you no longer want the app, you can drag it to the Trash; or right-click and choose, "Move to Trash".

Your application also remains in the Trash until you choose to empty the Trash. If you decide you don't want to delete it, you can remove it from the Trash.

You won't be able to empty the Trash if the application is still open (many people believe they have quit the app when they click on the red dot in the upper left of a window; however, that usually only closes the window, but leaves the app running).

I need to remove items accidentally put in iBook trash! How do I drag them out of the trash?

Hello:
If you already emptied the trash, then you can not drag the items back out again - you will need to use some kind of undelete utility.

If you did not empty the trash, then you should be able to click on the Trash Can icon in the dock, and it will open in a new window and show you all the files inside. You can then drag them out of the Trash window and on to your desktop, or into another folder.

If you can not see the Trash Can in your Dock, or on your Desktop, then please leave another message....and ALSO in your message put what version of OS X you are using.

I will be checking this site throughout the day (today is Tuesday, October 29)

Accidently emptied a trash bin that contained a very import ant file. How to restore this file?

1. If you simply put files in the Trash you can restore them by opening the Trash (left-click on the Trash icon) and drag the files from the Trash to your Desktop or other desired location.
2. "Time machine" is a built-in backup tool that works with your Mac and an external drive, As the problem you described, I read it. The files deleted in Trash bin could be a different problem which Time machine can't solve. you can read this article and learn more. I hope it will help.
3. If you don't have a Time Machine backup yet, then your best option would probably be uFlysoft Data Recovery for mac software

How can i delete old stuff on my mac laptop?

Click anywhere on the desktop that is literally empty space and next to the apple at the top left corner of the desktop FINDER will appear.
Under the File menu, the first item is New Finder Window. Click on that.
A new Finder Window appears with icons for folders for Documents, Desktop, etc.
Find the "old stuff" you want to delete by highlighting it with your mouse and holding down the "apple" aka Command key next to your spacebar on either side you may select multiple items.
When all your "old stuff" is selected, drag the whole collection to your Trash Bin, which should be either at the right side or the bottom of your Dock, depending on whether it is located on the top bottom or one of the sides of your desktop.
Under FINDER at the top left corner of your desktop you will find the commands Empty Trash and Secure Empty Trash the latter of which commands has no key combination, the former of which can be accessed by a combination of Shift-Command-Backspace
Empty Trash simply removes the items, but Secure Empty Trash removes the items AND reclaims your disk space, so if your intention is to increase your disk space, use the menu item, not the key combination to Secure Empty Trash.
I have been illustrating these steps on OSX 10.4 (Tiger) and I do not believe the process is much different for 10.5 (Leopard) or 10.6 (Snow Leopard) so if you have any difficulties please get back to me.

The iCal program in my Macbook computer does not want to load.

Try deleting the file "com.apple.ical.plist" in ~/Library/Preferences.

Probably the easiest way to get there is to click on Finder (the smiling face on the dock), click the "Go" menu at the very top of the screen, and then clicking "Go to Folder".

Type in --> ~/Library/Preferences
Find --> com.apple.ical.plist
Drag it to the trash. Empty the trash after you're sure there's nothing in the trash you want.

Good luck!

If I try to drag something into the dock it disappears...

Drag the file you are trying to put into the dock to the right of the silver line at the right of the dock. The file you want to delete, let it disappear in the 'puff of smoke' and then go into Macintosh HD and find the file and drag it over the trash icon. I hope it works!

Thanks, Logan

Pictures uploaded from my cellphone and are saved on my desktop

First close any application that you may have open that used the photo...or that you used to view or edit the photo.
The problem could be that the application or photo was in use. Usually it won't allow you to delete a file that is in use by a program.
Once you are sure that the applications are closed. then click on the photo (if this is a Mac) and press and hold down the the apple command key (one on each side of your spacebar) then hit the delete key. The item should disappear...(it moves it to the trash)
Or you can just drag and drop it to the trash.
Hope this helps.  Have a great day!
