    sounds to me like you may have hardware problems, how old is your pc. do you have other problems with other applications.

    if not hardware then it must be software, I would recommend reinstalling Windows XP and formatting the HDD, but back your stuff up first.

Sounds like to me you need a new mouse. Or if it is wirless you must have the infrared receiver closer to your mouse.2) check your device manager and see if your mouse has a Yellow ? or ! mark next to it.If so right click on the mouse listing and click repair or update and or uninstall then reinstall your mouse last. This will fix it if it is not gone!!!
Great Luck!!!

The first thing I would do is try a different port to plug in the mouse.
Then if that doesn't work, try a different mouse.
You could also do a system restore back to when it worked.

My mouse does not work ?

If you are working with track ball mouse than you have to service it properly
  • First remove the back cover by twisting it and take the ball out and clean it you have to clean the mouse inside also
If you are using optical mouse than check that you are working with a mouse pad it is necessary with optical mouse
If yet not working check the connecter of the mouse with green color fix it properly

At last if it does not work it means that its optical sensor has gone so u have to buy a new one

thanks

Scrolling mouse - it creeps 3 or 4 lines after the scroll wheel is stopped

Such a problem generally comes when your scroll sensitivity is high, try reducing the scroll sensitivity from
control panel -> mouse
if you mouse scroll does not take quantized steps (moves continuously rather than in steps ) this is quite a common problem and can also be reduced if not completely removed by decreasing scroll sensitivity.
