On some infocus proj, the lamp door has a switch that usually has to be correctly positioned to reinstall lamp door, if it was working correctly befor lamp change check here first. if no pic at all check all connections to video equipment something may have come loose. If you get a picture try the factory reset/

Did you try to reinstall the bulb and make sure screws and plug are all the way in, if bulb connections are not all the way in the bulb may not light if not aligned or plugged in. If you have not done it already, try taking it out and putting it back in, all the bulbs I have replaced have been blown or shattered before there time was up. Make sure it is the right bulb also, comparing the old to the new, and if the old one was changed before it actually shattered then try the old one and see if it still works, you may even have a defective bulb, it happens sometimes, inspect the bulb carefully.

the high-pitched sound is the colorwheel trying to spin up to speed. that may need to be replaced. check the inside of the lamp for bulges, black spots, fogging or flaking. if it has any of those, replace the lamp. you can get parts from an infocus service center or send it to them for repair. either way, try www.avsolutionsny.com they're really good. if you want to replace it yourself, there is a detailed step-by-step on my "tips" area. it's the same as the infocus x1, x2, x3 and sp4805. click on my picture and scroll down to tips. good luck!

there isn't one. you need to see the menu. but what color is the led and is it blinking?
green- all is well
red blinking:
1 time- lamp not striking after 5x.
2 times- lamp has more than 3000 hrs. replace lamp.
3 times- lamp failure. replace lamp.
4 times- fan failure. shuts down.
5 times- undiagnosed error. possibly ballast or colorwheel.

if the colorwheel won't spin, the lamp won't light. when you turn on the projector, do you hear a high-pitched whir? if not, the colorwheel needs replacing.

Infocus x1a projector shuts down after 30 seconds - dust problem ??

do you have the correct lamp? the x1a takes an sp-lamp-009, that has 2 white wires, and not the more common sp-lamp-018 which looks exactly the same except has one white and one red wire (and are in different plug positions). if it still doesn't light, there is another issue (possibly the colorwheel) along with the lamp timer reset.

In the manual there is a chart which will indicate the nature of the failure depending on the number of times the red led flashes before a pause.

Most common is the projector's lamp timer has exceeded the operational lamp time limit.

While the projector's red led is flashing, press the volume up and down buttons on the projector simultaneously and hold them both in for 10 seconds.
This will reset the lamp inhibit protocol.

However if the lamp has thousands of hours of use you need to replace it before it actually fails.

Infocus 4805 blinking red light problem

My first questions is:

Is this the first lamp you have placed into your Infocus pj? If not, did you reset the hours when you did it last time? Otherwise that can also confuse the projectors internal system thinking there is NOT a new lamp in there and there for make it stop working once the clock hours are expired and over the 3000-6000 suggested hour life.

Let me know so I can help trouble shoot other possible problems.

Infocus projector won't turn on

From the infocus_lp650 manual
Table 2:
Red LED Behavior Explanation
One (1) blink The lamp won't strike after five (5)
attempts. Check the lamp and lamp door
installations for loose connections.
Two (2) blinks The lamp counter hours have exceeded
lamp life hours. Replace the lamp and
reset the lamp hours counter.
Optional Accessories Part Number
Three (3) blinks The projector has shut down the lamp.
Replace the lamp. Contact Technical Support
for repair if replacing the lamp does
not solve the problem..
Four (4) blinks The fan has failed. Replace the lamp (the
lamp module contains a fan). Contact
Technical Support for repair if replacing
the fan does not solve the problem.
Five (5) blinks The projector is overheating. Check for a
blocked air vent. Contact Technical Support
for repair if clearing the air vents
does not solve the problem.
