We have had the same problem. Even had the CD/DVD drive replaced. Now with the new one, it has happened again. Managed to get it out by going to Explorer and right clicking on the Drive and selecting "Eject". It definitely catches on something as it comes out. Not confident it will come out next time. Perhaps this is a hardware problem.

Same problem. I have tried right clicking "Eject" from the "My Computer" list of the device, pushing the button, selecting "Eject" from the menu - nothing has worked and there is no little hole for the folded out paper clip!

If you look on the door of your cd drive next to the button you push to eject the cd there is a small hole.  This is essentially the ememrgency release.  Unfold a paper clip and push it straight into the hole.  Once it releases you will feel the paperclip pushing down on a button.  you will feel and hear the drawer release.

The L3600 doesn't have an emergency hole so you need to disassemble the cover. MAKE SURE IT'S UNPLUGGED FROM THE AC POWER BEFORE GOING FURTHER! I would only suggest this if your warranty has run out. Remove the screw at the back under the warranty label then slide the top cover backwards and remove it. You will see 3 strap type black plastic catches towards the front of the computer, lift each one to unclip the front then lay it forward (it will still be attached by a cable, leave it connected). You should then see a metal catch under the CD/DVD Drive, lift it then slide the CD/DVD player out of it's housing, remove the Ribbon Cable at the back but make sure you know how to reconnect it. Remove the 3 small screws from the top and the two on the side holding the metal cover on top of the Drive then take the cover off, you should now be able to lift out the CD. Do the reverse of the above to reassemble your computer and there you go.

Acer

Hi

I'm not sure, please open the computer case and see if there is a free pci slot.

Note that opening the computer might void warranty.

Also, you would do fine with a USB Wifi adapter. cost around the same if not cheaper.

Thanks and good luck,
let me know if you need anything else.

Yes insert it as you would a regular cd. The CD tray should have an putline to where the 80 mm sits in.

If I could be of further assistance, let me know. If this helps or solves the issue, please rate it.

I have an acer aspire L3600 pc, and the dvd rom isnt working, it isnt even showing up on the Computer page, and under device manager it just says device not working (code 10) and when i press find...

Try to remove it under device manager and restart the laptop. If the same problem occurs, the driver for the CD rom isn't installed yet. Better call the Acer tech support for possible part replacement.
