i am looking at the pioneer manual and it says the orange/white is "to lighting switch terminal". what is the function of this wire?

also the manual does not have a picture of the stereo harness- so i cant tell which box is supposed to have this particular wire.

    please help.

lighting switch wire is for illuminate the front panel of the set up.in my experiance give the direct supply for this wire swiched by main switch turnd on the power in ACC mode.check the exsisting harness for that type supply by using multimeter.and fix it to that wire.

it will usefull to see your setup in the dark.

I bought a Ouku 7" screen DVD Navi unit for my 2009 Honda Civic. There are 4 loose wires on the harness labeled as follows:

Orange goes to the switch on the emergency brake. This allows the DVD player to play movies with the brake on ( liability issue...people sued and bankrupted a manufacturer because they watched tv while driving and some people got killed) should be the light green wire at the switch on the ebrake handle.

Blue is used on a vehicle with factory analog steering wheel controls

pink is connected to the back up lights and activates the backup camera feature if you have a back up camera

blue w/white stripe...best guess has to do with infra red remote ...possible allows an ir eye to be installed.

I would suggest go ogling the model number for a wiring diagram or owners manual if you don't have one.

I have 1993 honda accord im try to swap a 2000 honda civic radio but my honda accord all we have for speakers cables are red blue green yellow and white,i can't figure it out wich one goes were the 2000...

All cars with 4 speakers have 8 speaker wires (4 positive and 4 negative). The colors of the wires for these two cars are not the same. The only way to know which wire goes where is to get wire diagrams for both cars. Before cutting up your wire harness, check that the radio you're installing will bolt into your car and fit. Just swapping the mounting bracket may not work.

do you have a tester to make sure you connected the wires right sometimes if you have the yeloow or orange wire for display you have to wire red wire and display wire together for power and make sure you ground the black wire good as well.. i remember buying a harness and there was one pin missing that didnt match up with of harness of the car

Installing a pioneer stereo in a 1995 honda civic

I'm assuming that you're connecting to a wire harness that you've purchased and not directly to the wires which were plugged into the original Honda radio.

The black ground wire from the Pioneer can be connected to the ground wire on the car. You are correct on the blue/white remote turn-on wire as well - it can be connected to the blue power antenna with no harm. If you were installing any amps the blue/white wire would also go to their remote turn-on input.
