Question about HP - HP Photosmart 8250 printer

The ink system has failed and can no longer print. refer to printer documentation. error 0xc18a050a on a 8250hp I have a hp 8250 and I keep getting the error message 0xc18a050a. I tried reseting the printer, reinstalling the ink cartridges, and replacing the ink. Nothing seems to work.

    Hi,
    I have the same problem which appeared after a long period without printing and started with message of cartridge out of date.
    After this it came with the "ink system failure" message.

Normal 0 Driver could be corrupt.
Disconnect the printer or at least be sure it is turned off. I'd do both and reinstall the CD software program that came with the printer. When the software program asks you to connect the printer to the USB port, do so and it should again work properly.

Best simple fix is to take out entire program thru Control panel>add/remove and restart the computer and then reinstall it. Should take only 15 minutes.

The "Ink System Failure" error is causes by air in the ink feed tubes. We have a free step by step guide purging the air from the feed tubes posted on our web site. Go to our site at: www.ccl-la.com , click on the printer repair link and then the HP link. Follow the steps and you should be back printing in no time at all.

Ink system failure


  1. Press the On button to turn the printer off.
  2. Unplug the power cord from the back of the printer.
  3. Remove all the ink cartridges.
  4. Wait two minutes.
  5. Plug the power cord into the back of the printer.
  6. Press the On button to turn the printer on.
  7. Install the ink cartridges when prompted.
If the error code does not display, the issue is resolved.
