Problem for kawasaki PVS297OS

Kawasaki portable dual screen DVD Player

The DVD player works fine when plugged into regular outlet in house. It used to work fine in the car too but now when we plug into car it doesn't work. We've replaced the fuses in the cord and even bought a whole new cord. We've replaced the fuse in new cord too when it burned out instantly. Help. Need for long car rides with kids. Not sure if it's getting a short etc.
