I'm pretty sure that your problem isn't in the sticks...If that was your question. google 'HP USB Format' They put out a nifty little tool that works on most USB flash drives.

If 'File Permission' is not an issue, you may apply this registry tweak to allow 'Read-Write' access to external storage device.

Try to set the 'file permissions.' Right-clicking the hard drive letter brings up the option, where you can select 'Properties.' You should find the 'Security' tab there, then modify the permissions on each user. You should log-on using the administrator account to modify this settings. !con =)

If 'File Permission' is not an issue, you may apply this registry tweak to allow 'Read-Write' access to external storage device (eg. USB Drive). Download and import this registry "https://onedrive.live.com/redir?resid=C86ED303D47F61B8!5620&authkey=!ANKu98LQe-I0t5Y&ithint=file%2c.reg"

Hii sir pls help me mine kingstone data traveler 2gb is write protected so how shall i remove write protected?

Copy all the files onto your 'C:' drive.
Spend $9 to buy a new 2GB USB memory-stick.
Copy the files to the new memory-stick.
Take a sledge-hammer to the old memory-stick -- to prevent anybody else from reading your files.

I cant format or put data on my Verbatim Memory stick disk is write protected, and it appears the following pop-up screen Verbatim Memory stick disk is write protected so please provide me with...

Some Verbatims have a write protection switch on its side - make sure it's not activated. Then open the properties of the stick in My Computer. If in there the stick isn't set as read only then it has died - there's nothing more you can do to save it. Junk it and get a new one.

Cancel ''write protect'' on USB memory stick

If no physical switch, then check the software that came with. Some sticks have a software component that recognizes when you plug the stick in and gives you options for viewing and launching applications from the stick. There may be controls you can use to change the write protect.
If not, or you can also try, opening a view to the stick from Windows Explorer and just delete files from there as you would from any drive. Windows will prompt you to confirm delete. I wouldn't delete any auto-load or setup apps that would be used to connect to another computer.

How I remove the writw-protection to the memory card

Hi!

In order to remove write-protection from the memory stick, connect it to the device in which write-protection was implemented on it then use the feature of the device to remove write-protection off the memory stick.

Should you require any clarification, you may write back.
