My DS was dropped on the floor, while powered up. It will no longer power back on. However, when plugged in to the AC, the unit will show that it is charging...still a black screen though. Where is the reset button...or other options?

Hook up only the ac adapter to the DS to see if it turns on. If it does then we know the ac adapter works. We know the battery got fully charged but the system isn't turning on with the battery that is fully charged up.
I would say your battery is defective but you won't really know until you fully charge up a known good working battery and test it out.
Hi three things come to mind, you dropped it but usually they wont admit it (dont go mad they usually all break when you do) if it rattles the capacitor under the power switch just fell off (common you have to solder it back on) if not that you replaced the bottom screen and forgot to insulate the metal of the back of the screen against the circuit board and blew either the f1 or f2 fuses (Replace them if you did) last thing i wont go into if you havent pulled it apart if you have reply and i will tell you Good Luck
remove the battery for a few mins and put it back in and try again? Its a long shot but theres very little you can do with this, the insides of the DS lite are REALLY small and the only replaceable parts are the screen, buttons, etc. and you cant really fix damage to the board or chips inside which presumably is whats happened here if you get zero response. Sorry.. :(
mmm not exactly because if you plug the charger back in it will go orange again, so my guess would be that the ds doesnt stay charged for a long while, you can charge the ds properly when it is shut off but it does needs to be charging at least 8 to 10, you want it to last longer, play a game till the power goes just dnt save anything incase the ds shuts down while saving, otherwise it can corrupt the game and possibly the ds
Not sure if this will help you, but my son dropped his on to a concrete pavement and it wen black, the charge lite would only come up for one second then go out when I plugged it in to charge. Just for fun, I had a spare battery and changed it. In this instance, the system started working again.
Not sure how this can happen, but dropping it on the floor seems to have killed the battery that was in it. A simple replacement battery did the trick for me.
