I've had a kenwood 817dvd for about 3 years and worked great until last night it didn't turn on with the truck. if i press the reset button it will turn on but as soon as i change the source it goes dead after about 1 second. I can't see any grounded wires (brain is under back seat) but it is possible. But it's weird that it will turn on as "standby" mode, i unplugged the speaker rca's thinking maybe it was a speaker shorted because it's seems to cut out when the volume cuts in but it still cut out...any help would be appreciated.
Sir,
Click this link to download the manual and just go through the manual it would helps...
thanks
good luck
Hi
What are you getting exactly on the display? Are you getting any noise on the speakers? Please check for the yellow wire on the back of the unit.
Hi there,
inside the unit there will be a small battery, this will need replacing as its not holding its charge, the battery is just like a watch battery, as soon as this is sorted it will work fine.
The battery is for holding system information like for instance the time and date, and all over things that you might have programed with it.
Hope this helps.
