There is a lock switch on the back of the player - unlock it.

Wont turn on, plug it into comp reads...not enough free space for music DB please free 30MD. my computer does not recognize there is even anything pluged in. the clip says its connected and charged. how do...

Slide the Clip's power switch to the "lock" position, then hold down the rewind button (looks like "<<") while plugging your Clip into the computer. You should then see your Clip show up in Window Explorer as a "removable disk". Right-click on the Clip in Windows Explorer and select "Format". Don't select "Quick Format", and be SURE you're doing this to your Clip, not one of your computer's disks.

After the format is done, unplug the Clip, plug it back in and verify that you no longer get the "not enough free space" message.

Song's won't load, even though the files show

Yeah, the songs are in the wrong format for your player. There are some DRM-protected songs that allow you to play the song on your computer, but they won't actually play on an mp3 player even though they appear to transfer. If you download ALL of your songs in mp3 format, you will never have this problem.

Run the installation CD first, before connecting.
Are you running vista? You may need a clean version of the installation software from RCA's website.
