You can find your IMEI number using the *#06* . It's possible to unlock your Motorola K1m using the codes. I found unlocking service at Wickedunlock.com . Once you get the code, you may follow the instructions at Mobileunlockguide.com . This will help you to unlock your mobile easily.
turn cell over face down...press the button at top (with your right thumb) of cell ,slide the back cover off with your left thumb...the battery is there take battery out slide the sim card in the slot the now...place battery back in (the gray metal clip over the sim card is a slot for a sdmirco card (more storage you might wanna invest in ($4 -$10)
Go to www.motorola.com. Click on the picture above "for consumers." Choose "mobile phones" near the top middle of the page. Then, in the "quick search" box on the right type in K1m. On the right near the top of the next page choose "owner support" and on the next screen will be "manuals and user guides" on the right.
Not exactly a manual, but you can go to www.verizonwireless.com. On the red bar, near the right, click on "support". Choose Motorola, then your phone model. I don't know exactly what information you seek, but you can find answers to many of your questions there.
Easy way is this - copy all your phone book to sim card.
Put sim in new phone - copy contents of sim to new phone.
If you have loads of contacts then copy sim in new phone then delete all put in old phone copy contacts to sim until full. put in new phone copy over, repeat..
its easier than buying software etc to do all this.
Hi I got the same phone today.
I assume you are trying to install the SIM card as you stated and not the memory SD card as some are talking about. My manual just shows a picture! Take out the battery hold the phone with the bottom toward you look at the hole where the battery was. On the bottom of the square there is a slot in the middle that the SIM card slides into. THE NOTCH ON THE SIM IS TO THE BOTTOM LEFT CORNER. Place the SIM card flat against the bottom of the hole where the battery was with the notch as stated and slide it down towards you into place. The SIM just about disappears into the bottom edge of the battery hole. Thats what my manual showed about inserting theSIM card. Haven't inserted a SD card yet.Hope this helps.
The K1M only takes a Transflash card. Remove the battery cover, and at the bottom, you will see a small rubber cover. Pry it out with a fingernail, and insert the Transflash card to to the left. Replace the rubber cover and the battery cover.
There should be a menu that when you put in a simcard, go to your address book and you can select each contact off the card, then select copy to phone.
when you put back in your new sim card you have the option to transfer your contacts to the sim card, although you will then have duplicate copies of contacts and you will need to delete the contacts off the phone if you wish to keep them on the sim card only.
