Keyboard not functioning properly

I have a Microsoft Wireless Comfort Keyboard 4000. Sometimes when typing, the cursor jumps to the beginning of the sentence/line. Other times, the application quits. Is there a fix for this? I just bought this keyboard and am running Vista 32.

i have similar problem but its much worse.  I used to have windows XP and my wireless laser desktop 6000v2 keyboard seemed to work fine.  I then upgraded to vista 32bit recently and problems began to arise.  At certain times my keyboard will just go funny and begin to lose control and kept keying in random keys... I practially tried everything to resolve the problem (reinstalling the software, change channels millions of times on the transeiver, change batteries, change channels on my wireless router to avoid interference) and the problem still persists... I really wonder wot is going on since i didnt have any problems in XP!!!

I had a similar problem with a new MS 4000 Keyboard. I found that I had two versions of the IntellPoint software on my Vista system. I uninstalled the older version (which came with my new computer) and the keyboard seems to be working well now. Check your system via the Control Panel, Install/Uninstall Programs and look for the MS IntellPoint software. Good luck.

Chances are that the keyboard is too far away from the receiver. This will wear the batteries down very fast. Optimal distance is less then 3 feet away unobstructed. try this and you shouldn't have many problems anymore.

Microsoft 4000 Keyboard

Start simple - unplug and replug the cord that connects the keyboard to your computer. Try typing again. If it still does not work, restart your computer. If it still does not work after restart, go to Microsoft's website, and redownload the drivers/software for the keyboard. Good luck!

Microsoft Wireless Desktop uses Intellitype and Intellipoint software. The latest version available from Microsoft downloads is 6.1 from December 2006. Download and run this selfinstalling software and all of the functions will again be available.
