The nokia e71 smartphone does not charge properly i have replaced the battery with a new one yet the problem has not gone away. is there anything else i can do to fix this ?

I would recommend that you take the battery out and the reinstall it. Try to power the handset up, if this is to no avail, then your power button is faulty and will need to be replaced. There are shops that specialize in cellular device repair, and they are significantly cheaper than filing an insurance claim on you device,or getting a new one. Make sure that your battery is charged..

How long Do you keep your phone charging? If your Phone passes an extended amount of time showing "Phone Charged", then your phone's battery was overcharged. I recommend replacing the battery...

Remove battery and keep off for some time , replace after cleaning with a paper the battery terminals to confirm of any thin film of dirt. Clean also the terminals of the Phone.Set time/date, Set the phone to charge fully. Discard any messages/files which had come in before the fault started. Reset the phone to the default factory settings. Check the memory with a scan for virus if so remove.( use the connecting cord).
If the problem persists it can be due to the software error.
You must approach the Nokia service for a proper installation.

Ok could be 3 things.

1.Go to your dealer and ask to try a new battery.

2.If that doesn`t help ask to try a different charger.

If the above 2 didn`t solve it , then its the phone.

At this stage if you are under warranty ask for your money back or another phone.

when using applications my back cover gets hot too especially with nokia maps
so i think that is a normal thing also that could be why the back is metal to act like a heat sink?

also is your battery a BP-4L
thats the one i have and my battery could last a week or so but i charge it every day

I guess you didnt chat it properly before using it, so i will advise you get another battery, charge for 4hrs before you start using it

i think that you might have not properly charged your batterry before first use it is being noted that all mobile manufacture recommends at least 10- 15 hrs of continus charging of the battery with the phone swtiched off is needed to work effectively in the future if you do so life of the battery will incress and you can incresse the back up of the battery and it is proven also so charge the battery well and try and remeber only recharge the battery agin when a battery low signal is shown
these are some tips :
Dont talk or use mobile phone when the phone is charging its battery,
Only Charge your mobile when it shows " LOW BATTERY ",
dont use mobile if any water particals get inside the phone ,
use only orginal battery ,
Dont over charge your mobile,
Use the mobile to talk only when the network signal is high else use sms facility to communicate,
Change the mobile battery as soon as possible if it damaged,
Use only original charger to charge the battery,
when you try to remove battery make sure that the phone off,
if the phone is not using in long time remove battery and keep it safe,
Dispose the battery safely if its life is over

If you are having these problem with your nokia, there are two possible reasons why this should be happening;

1. You could be charging it with a faulty charger, and you should get another e71 charger for it. You can probably use this same presumed faulty charger on another nokia phone and if it does work well then it implies that the charger is fit and well. So please don't replace the charger.

2. This therefore leaves us with the last option which is the battery, please replace the battery you've got and your phone would charge normally.

you might have blown somthing oops and probs your phone might need replacing but you might have to pay for it
