Where can I find the drivers on my computer so I can charge my Ipod

Hi ewaf3,
You mentioned that you need a driver to be able to charge your iPod Nano on your computer.
I do not think you need drivers for an iPod Nano to be detected on a computer or to be able to charge it, I believe you are experiencing issues that when you connect your iPod it doesn't get detected right.
Try installing iTunes on you computer if you already have iTunes then the iPod most probably gets detected.
iTunes is the only software program closest to a driver that will make an iPod get detected by windows.
Check this link
I hope that this can help with your query/
Thank you for choosing Fixya,

Ipod woulnt connect to itunes

Reset your iPod:

1. Toggle the Hold switch on and off. (Slide it to Hold, then turn it off again.)

2. Press and hold the Menu and Center (Select) buttons simultaneously until the Apple logo appears, about 6 to 8 seconds. You may need to repeat this step.

Then connect it to your computer and see if it is recognized by iTunes.

If not, try other USB ports on your computer, especially any on the back panel.

When I connect my iPod nano to my computer and iTunes pops up it says that "An iPod has been detected but it could not be identified properly. Please disconnect and reconnect, and try again" I have done...

Use the Five Rs to restore the iPod. You will lose the data that is currently on it if you restore but you can always re-sync the data to the iPod. http://www.apple.com/support/ipod/five_rs/

go to applications then utilities then open disk utility
on the on the left side all the hard drives will be listed. click on your ipod then click erase, look here click "erase" and then "ok". when it is done disconnect the ipod, open itunes and reconnect the ipod. itunes will tell you the ipod is corrupted and i needs to restore it. click ok and then wait for it to complete the restore.

PC:

IPOD NANO

you first have to find out if it's a screen lock (you can succesfully connect it to your computer) or a "manage lock" (connecting doesn't work too)

if it's a screen lock, connect the ipod the the computer you first used it with (the one you used to install the ipod), open itunes and then disconnect again, it should be unlocked

if it's a manage lock, connect the ipod to the computer and restore the factory settings, warning, this will erase ALL data.
then reconnect it and synchronise

Ipod wont show up on itunes

Okay, I had a similar problem with a 5th Gen 30GB, and I stumbled upon a solution that I have not seen anywhere else.
Basically, my iPod was mounting as a disk drive, but would not show up in iTunes. I reset it many times and ran the diagnostics (left and center upon Apple logo at startup). Nothing worked, and of course I couldn't restore it, because it wouldn't show up in iTunes. It did the same thing regardless of what PC or Mac it was plugged into -- it always mounted, but never showed up in iTunes.
Another odd observation was that it was mounting on my Mac desktop with the "external hard drive" icon, not with an iPod icon.
Here is what I did that fixed it:
1. Plugged it in to a Mac. 2. Opened a Terminal session 3. Browsed to the /Volumes/iPod/iPod_Control/ folder 4. Renamed the iTunes sub-folder to iTunes.backup 5. Ejected the iPod, then re-connected it
At this point, iTunes detected my iPod just fine! I went through the restore procedure as a precaution; because I have no idea what this directory really contains.
I realize that the circumstances surrounding my successful restore are somewhat unique, and probably don't apply to very many other situations, which is why I described some of the quirky things (like the icon showing up as an external hard drive) in detail at the beginning of this. Don't attempt it if you're not comfortable with what I described, or if your iPod has different symptoms!
