Micro-star ms-7050 won't boot - three red flashes then pause

I'm trying to find out the meaning of the flashing led. There are two leds on the front panel of the HP DX5051 -- one is solid green the other flashing red

  • Anonymous Nov 11, 2012

I found a comment about "beeps" -- such as three "beeps" meaning processor not installed, 4 power supply, etc. I get no "beeps" but the red led does flash three times if I remove the CPU and it flashes four times if I put the CPU in. However the power supply seems O.K. if I unplug it from the motherboard and jumper the "fourth" pin to ground and then hook up fans to the pins that are to supply 12 volts, etc. I suspect that the problem is really the motherboard, but I'd like to be sure before I spend a bunch of money.

SOURCE: How to & where to connect Power led + - /power sw/reset sw/HDD led

Get the user manual here: User Guide
Chapter 2 Page 17.
The plugs just fit on to little pins in the bottom corner of the board.

If you connect them and hard drive indicator light on the front of the case does not come on then you need to swap the 2 connectors around.
It's an led which has to be connected the correct way to work.
Same goes for the power led on the front of the case.

What if the speed LEDs on the VR2/VSI begin to flash?

  • Determine if the battery charger is connected to the power base. When the battery charger is connected to the power base, a charger inhibit feature keeps the power chair from driving. This is indicated by the VR2/VSI speed
    LED(s) flashing.
  • Determine if the charger harness fuse has blown. A blown charger fuse can cause the charger inhibit to
    activate.
  • Determine if all controller connections are plugged into the power base properly. If the 3-pin charger
inhibit connector is not plugged in properly, then the charger inhibit feature will activate.

Note: The TV must be in "Shut Down" and not have been switched Off, to perform the Error Code Operational

Check. When the TV is switched Off, the code automatically resets to "12" No Error.

Pressing the front panel "DEVICE" and "MENU" buttons at the same time, and holding for 5 seconds,

activates the Error Code Mode. The LED flashes denoting a two digit Error Code, or indicating no problem

has occured since the last Initalization.

Note: The front panel buttons must be used, NOT those on the Remote Control.

• The number of flashes indicates the value of the MSD (tens digit) of the Error Code.
