Hi I have a DI 524 that was working a week ago and then I did not use it last week. Now I started to use it and I reset the unit by pressing the button inside the back of the unit.
Now, when I connect to the power, I see all the lights on. It has 4 output ports and one input port. And the Power WAN and 1,2,3 and 4 lights are on. Steady. Not even blinking. WHat is wrong with this. Is it messed up and I have to get another one?? Or is there a solution someone can help me with.

Re: Help with DI 524
Start your router, and keep and hold pressing on the "reset" until it resets by itself.
This will reset the router to defaults.
If the lights got back to work normally again, then you are ready to go. you can access your router by directing your browser to http://192.168.0.1
Admin as user
and blank as password
Download this manual to get you going on configuring your router

Let's try to first fully reset your router to factory settings to see if we can get rid of any bad settings that may be causing issues. I borrowed all of the following from the technicallyeasy.net walkthroughs already written about:
To reset your router, use the following steps:
Press the reset button for 10 seconds. You can use a small object, such as a paper clip to hold down the button.
Do not power off the unit while the router is being reset. The unit should now reboot, and once the WLAN light stops blinking the router should be reset.
(Added by me) Plug your laptop directly into one of the ethernet ports on the back of the router with a standard CAT5e or CAT6 patch cable
Open up your Web browser and enter 192.168.0.1 in the address bar.
For the login, enter admin as the ID and leave the password blank.
SummaryThis post has provided the instructions you can use to reset your D-Link DI-524 wireless router. If you are having problems with your router, try reseting the router to the factory defaults, and then make the changes again and see if the router starts working."
1.Try connecting the PC directly to the modem ( not router ) and see if it helps
2. If it does, try to reset the router once and try configuring again ( reset gets teh product back to factory defaults )
Hope this helps
Have you tried the reset feature, small button near the power port.
Hold it down for thirty seconds with the unit unplugged. If that doesn't work you may need to buy a new router as something may have failed some time ago and just not been noticed until it was turned off.
Try the reset, but I suspect whatever killed your modem likely killed the router at the same time.
If it will not accept it
>Make sure your computer is wired or connected to your DI-524
>Try going start>run > type in CMD
>on the black screen type in ipconfig and hit enter.
>Look for the Default Gateway that would be the IP address that your DI-524 is using.
>Click Start>All Programs > Accessories > click on command prompt
>type in ipconfig
>Look for IPV4 for the Default Gateway and that would be the IP address of your router.
If not allowing to access the login page, try pressing the reset button for 15 seconds at the back of your DI-524 but pressing the reset button will reset the setting of your wireles setting. Once your press the reset button type in 192.168.0.1 on the address bar and you should be having the login page. use Admin/admin for the username and leave the password blank and click ok...
the default ipaddress for that is 192.168.0.1 you will need to set your computer with a ip address like 192.168.0.2 then you should be able to access it. be sure to change your computer back to DHCP after you reset the router
Reset the DI-524 to its factory default settings and restore the other devices on your network to their default settings. You may do this by pressing the Reset button on the back of the unit. You will lose the current configuration settings. Also be sure to unplug the modem the plug it back in afterwards, a reboot of all devices on network maybe good idea also.
