Question about Sony PlayStation 2 (PS2) Console

Memory Card- Loading a black screen

Hopefully someone knows what to do. Just turned on my Playstation 2. Had saved my game of GTA last night but when it loaded my saved game the screen came up black- no sound, nothing. I can see that my game is saved on the memory card but every time I try to load it nothing comes up. Any ideas? I really don't want to have to go through it all again.

My playstation 2 is not loading any games the screen is just black but when i have no game in it, it goes to the memory card screen and it wont read my games it just constantly says loading

this is a common issue with the playstation 2 due to dust on the laser lens. try a disc cleaning kit or take it to a electronics specialist. 9/10 times on mine and my friends ps2's this was the fault.

PSP can't read my memory stick and LAN light is flashing.

is it just the one movie that wont play or have you tried music and game saves?
a few things to check
1 is the memory card showing magic gate supported
2 check if the card shows 15.?gb with nothing on it
3 try loading the card with 15gb of music and pictures

i bought a 16gb pro duo memory card from ebay that was a 4gb card showing in the psp as 15.4gb but corrupted every thing after 4gb.
if you also find that the card is only taking between 4-8gb of data contact ebay as this is likely a fake card.

Memory Card Corrupted

you cannot save another file until you delete previous one.Corruption occurs if the memory card is removed from console or if you reset the game while saving or loading game remember this also happens when you are saving or loading game and electricity turns off.

Memory card corrupted

I know exactly what the problem is with this, this will be a FixYa rating lol...anyways the reason is because maybe your PS2 was turned off while saving one time. When you save it says do not unhook the memory card or reset or turn off the console. You must have or someone else did. What you need to do is delete all the old stuff and you have to save the games all over again and recatchup your progress in the games. It's like a computer being turned off while saving, but the PS2 will not recover so sorry.

No screen or sound

I have had this problem numerous times. It's a glitch in the game, best I can figure. It corrupts your saved game. You might be able to go back to an earlier save and play from there. But the best solution, if that doesn't work, is to take out the game disc, turn on the ps2, click on Browse (with your memory card plugged in) and delete the Vice City file(s) on there. Then put your disc back in and start over from the beginning. It sucks, I know. I've had to do it. And once I was almost to a 100% completion. Bleh. =( Sorry.

No screen or sound after loading

make sure that the memory card is in straight and all the way clean the copper connections and and make sure the memory card port on the console is clear of dirt and dust to ensure data is exchanged properly. use a lens cleaner for disk players and computers ect. and clean the lens with it because sometimes the console might not read the game correctly and load data wrong. make sure your data on your memory its not corrupt it can still be corrupt sometimes even if it doesn't say it is if nothing here helps i would just start over and make a new save game file. :)

You need to try to Update your PS3 from a memory card. Follow the directions on to download the update using your regular PC and copy the update to a Memory card that has at least 120Mb of free space.

Go to Click on "Playstation 3", then click on "Playstation Network". Click on "System Update". Scroll to the bottom of that screen. Click on the next to last bullet called "Update using a PC" Follow the directions in detail.

Not being able to save gow 2

One trick that I found working every time is that turn on the console, pull out memory card, insert game disk and start the game. When the game menu shows up put memory card in. From there onwards games will be loaded and saved properly without this issue hopefully

GTA: Vice City loading problem

Could be corrupted, try copying the second save on a different memory card, if that works, then it's your memory card, if it still goes black the file is corrupted.
