Check to make sure that a genuine HP print cartridge is being used.

Check to make sure that a toner low or toner out light is not being displayed on the control panel.

Try to reinstall the ink cartridge.

Check to make sure that EconoMode is off in the software.

The media might not meet Hewlett-Packard media specifications (for example, the media
is too moist or too rough). See Device media specifications for more information. If the
whole page is light, the print density adjustment is too light or EconoMode might be turned
on. Adjust the print density and turn off EconoMode in the device properties. See Saving
toner for more information

Check the print quality setting on your computer when printing from printing preferences try quality. Also optionally you may want to consider reinstalling the driver,s and uninstalling the printer completely first, as this will restore it to defaul settings.

Is it faded all the way across the page, or is it for example more faded on the left that the right? With older printers you will sometimes get dust build up on the mirrors and lenses that can cause this problem There was a model slightly older than the 3030 that was notorious for this, but i don't recall which one. you can usually clean the mirrors and lenses with isopropyle alcohol. On the other hand It may just need a new image drum if its worn. How long since its been changed?

PRINTER SUDDENLY PRINTING VERY FAINT ALL INK FULL

It is most likely a blockage in the print-head. Run a nozzle check to see if all the jets are firing cleanly. If there are colours missing or "scratchy" run a deep cleaning cycle. If that doesn't improve the nozzle check, remove the cartridges and then the print-head. Run the underside of the print-head under hot water from the tap for a moment. dry it with a paper towel and re-install the print-head and cartridges. Give a standard clean and re-try. If it still doesn't work, the print-head is probably dying.

We threw our 6150 into the trash (Florida does not recycle electronics) because it would not print correctly, even after we installed a new printhead and all new cartridges.

I recommend you cut your losses.

Try to check the ink levels and make sure it's good for printing. Otherwise, please replace them with new cartridges. You can try to re-seat the cartridges in the printer then try to print your document again to verify that the print quality has improved.

This type of cartridge has the printing head in them - the possibility that all 3 ones are clogged is extremely low. If you get a bad printing with them it's because the heads are incorrectly commanded - either the pin array that transfer the command is damaged and they will have to be cleaned and fixed or the processor of the printer is dead, and the printer with it.

Try to reseat your cartridges. Unplug and replug your printer into the power source to reset itself. If that doesn't help, try to clean your cartridges and check if print quality improves. If you're using Windows, go to Start -> Programs -> Lexmark X74-X75 -> Lexmark X74-X75 Solution Center -> Maintenance -> Clean print nozzles to fix horizontal streaks.

I have changed all the ink cartridges on my Brother MFC5440CN it

Light/faint prints usually are a result from clogged ink or air bubbles between the cartridge and print head (thus changing cartridge wont fix problem). Try printing the test page print from the machine (Ink Management -> set/ok twice). Answer the question(s) in the display and repeat this up to five times. The colors should be improved after 1-3 test prints usually.

Color suddenly stopped printing. black is printing fine.

Hello,

Often ink printers will get clogged. This is especially the case if it sits idle for a while between uses, but can happen even with actively used printers. Try running the Dell printer's Head Cleaning Utility.
  • This is usually found by going to:
Start > Control Panel > Printers and Faxes
  • Rightclick on your printer's icon
  • Choose Properties off the new menu
  • Click Maintenance
  • From there you should see the controls for Printhead Cleaning.
You should see an improvement after about 2-3 cleaning runs. This does use ink, but may be your best bet to resolve the issue.

Hope this helps,

Chris

Likely your purge unit needs cleaning...

Make sure by printing out a test page from printer (not from computer).

If test page is good, you have a software issue. If test page is bad, you need to clean your head and/or purge unit.
