SOURCE: how do you change the batterys in hasbro cosmic catch ball game

The "push" button has a small hole on either side. there is a small screw at the bottom of each hole. Use a small philips head screwdriver. Once you have loosened the screws, this whole "block" of foam will come out of the ball and you will see the battery compartment.

I was given the cosmic catch game but I dont have the colered bands , can i still use cosmic catch without the bands?

I just bought the ball from Goodwill for $2.99 and didn't know what it was till I got it home.; Put in 4 new AAA batteries and came on but when it start it commands to pass the ball to each player so they can sign in (via the arm bands). Since that was not included in my purchase I can't use it for any of the games. The original reason I bought was to be used for hand-eye coordination for my young children. I think it is a wonderful ball to be used for this. The ball has a heavier weight to it than it appears yet is soft to the touch. A direct impact from it will not cause any harm to a child or person and yet the weight gives it a real feel of a normal softball. So it's not like a Nerf foam ball or even a hard foam ball. Could definitely break a window because the weight if you tried. Has a little bounce to it when it hits the ground but it's not a bouncy ball. I found some bands looking around on Ebay. Just do a search for Cosmic Catch Bands and you should find something that works for you. And even if you pay a little for the bands remember that the original game cost around $60.00 or more so your still gonna get a good deal. That is of course if you like the game. But for me it will be fine even without the bands to play with my young children.

Our cosmic catch has new batteries in it but will only stay on for 2-3 tosses. Then it just stops. We have tried several sets of new batteries.

Mine does the same. If you give it a smack (fairly hard) on the side opposite the batteries, it "fixes" it. You should be able to then turn it on. It may have something to do with the battery connections. You could try putting some aluminum foil on the negative side of each battery to help make a more snug connection. That said, it could have to do with a lose wire inside the ball itself. In which case, you should see about exchanging it.

Hasbro nerf cosmic catch keep away

1. Choose a color hand band and place it on your hand as shown. All
players do the same. Place any unused bands out of play.
2. Press the ball button to power it up. You will hear some music and
the ball will announce: COSMIC CATCH!
3. The ball will then announce: PLAYERS SIGN IN. PASS THE BALL TO
EACH PLAYER. Hold the ball (with color band on) so that it knows

Loosen the screws on the battery
compartment door.
Then remove the door. Insert 4
AAA-size batteries (I recommend
alkaline), making sure to align the
+ and – symbols with the markings
in the plastic. Replace the door and
tighten the screws.
you are playing. The ball will announce your color. Then pass the
ball to the next player until all players are signed in.
4. After all players have signed in (held the ball), pass the ball back
to the first player that signed in. The ball will then know how
many players are in the game and announce the players’ colors.
Note: If a player takes more than 2 seconds to pass the ball, it
will announce: KEEP GOING. If the ball is passed to a player who
has already signed in but was not the first to do so, the ball will
announce: KEEP GOING.
5. The ball will then announce: SELECT GAME. Press the ball button
to select the game you want as shown below.

Where do you put the batteries in a cosmic catch ball? Is it the thing that says push? Or is there another place you put them in?

For those who need answers now regarding batteries, if you look at the button, you'll see two Phillips screws recessed deep in the ball. Get a long screwdriver and unscrew them. The button panel will come out and the batteries are there. Sometimes you may need to remove the batteries to reset the thing, too.
