Your ptc relay on the compressor when they go out they make a clicking noise. The compressor will quit and little bit later might try to come back on and click again. You need a new ptc relay. It is on the compressor little black box just unplug your refrigerator and pull the relay off. undo the wires and get a new one. Kinda staight forward compressor has 3 prongs that the relay plugs into.

Hi!
A relay starts the compressor with a higher voltage and then quickly kicks out
It does a lot of clicking (trying to start over and over again)
If thats what is happening with yours
Its best for a tech to replace The relay but you can do it
Take your model number to your Local Appliance parts store they will have a diagram
showing you how to install the relay. Its called a hard start relay
I use part no ERP410 POWER START RELAY, CAPACITOR AND OVERLOAD all in one. (110 v)

you may have a bad defrost heater (around cold coils in freezer)

Which is shorting out the card. or some other short.

The Fridge of my Rangemaster SXS Fridge Freezer is freezing up

You probably have one of the following problems: A failed defrost system, meaning the defrost timer and/or element has gone out and your evaporator coil is frozen over; you are low on freon and this too will cause your evap coil to freeze over until the freon drops so low all cooling stops; . Unless you have gauges, a licence to buy freon and service valves (or a buddy with such) you are limited to what you can do. Here is my advice:1. unplug the frig and let it defrose over night, or unplug the frig and empty the freezer to remove the back cover to look for ice, a frozen fan and if so get your hair dryer out and melt the ice so you can test the fan and the defrost element (you will need a volt/ohm meter to do the element check. You can do it.

Refrigerator not cooling down below 60 degrees f.

hi!!! make sure your inside fan is blowing and also go to back of your frig and see if the compressor and condensor fan are working if not then thats your problem..If they are working then you have a seal system problem in your frig..make sure when you look at the compressor you try to hear a cliking sound if you do then change the current relay..Good luck..

Frig section not cooling and at time appears to stop but freezer is ok

There is one compressor, condenser and evaporator in all refrigerators. The part that makes the cold inside the unit is the evaporator. It's in the freezer, behind a barrier on the back wall. It's a "coil" with many small fins. There is a fan that blows air over the evaporator which makes the air cold. This air comes from the freezer and stays in the freezer. The cold food section (the refrigerator) has a control that opens a hole for air to pass from the freezer to the fridge. This being said...you can rule out the "temperature control" for the fridge.

The sound you hear could be the compressor relay, the evaporator fan or maybe something else. It could be bad, it could be not too bad. (Like a fan blade a bit unbalanced with dust)

OK,,, back to the evaporator. There is a little heater next to the coil that turns on every 8 hours or so to defrost the coil. That's called the "defrost cycle". Makes sense, no? If the defrost timer (common problem) or defrost control board (common problem) go bad, your evaporator coil freezes up, and that's not good for anything in your refrigerator. But it can often keep the freezer section cold. You can easily disassemble the evaporator cover in the back of the freezer and take a look. If it looks like a block of ice, you probably have a defrost issue. An even, thin coat of frost is OK, but lots of ice is a no no.

Sounds like your defrost evap. drain maybe plugged.. you didnt say what type and model it is.. Im assuming a sxs

take off back panel and find the drain hole to see if plugged... try pouring hot water down to flush after you check for blockage
