This means that you have to format the cards on a computer or on a card reader attached to the computer.

Keeps saying card needs formatted - ok continue to format - hr glass come up and then in a few seconds I get same messase -card needs formatted

There are several possible causes for "memory card locked", "memory card error", formatting problems, or "no memory card". The most common cause is having the tiny slide switch on the side of the card in the wrong position. The second most common is trying to use a 4GB or higher SDHC card with an older camera made before SDHC format came out. There are also other common causes if the above didn't help, with troubleshooting steps for this problem listed in this linked article.

The camera keeps saying "Memory

It's not the camera. I hope you have the original card if not no matter. I'm including a diagram that shows a locking switch on an SD card the black arrow points to the little switch in the unlock position. Now something else you will need to format the memory card to make it compatible to your camera. This function is in "set up" and you need to use the arrow keys to navigate to that function. Format the card and everyone will be happy again. Another thing each time you download pictures to your computer you need to format the memory card. What I expect you are doing or have been doing is deleting the pictures. This works but eventually it leaves the card full of holes and dirty and the camera can no longer write to it. I full expect that if you still have the original SD car that you can format it as well and it will work again. Now saying that because it's so dirty (with old deleted information not actual dirt) you may need to format that card a few times (maybe twice). This will solve your problem

How do u fix the camera that keeps saying locked card and its not the memory card

Not sure why you are saying it's not the memory card or is it because you are working on the camera internal memory? If so the camera internal memory still needs to be formatted or initialized to properly work with the camera. I'm going to include two diagrams on a memory card that your camera will use first is the Card Lock. This is an actual lock on the side of the memory card and if in the incorrect orientation will prevent formatting all new card must be formatted to the camera they are being used in. You can't format the card in the computer and expect it to work in the camera it won't happen. You can't format the card in one camera and place it in another even the same make and model and expect to work.
Here is the first picture/diagram of the card lock

The second diagram is right out of your owners manual showing how to format/initialize your memory card

Format card was taken from page 89 of your manual Have fun with your camera

It keeps saying that my card is locked

SD cards have a slide switch along one edge. The position farthest from the contacts locks the card, protecting it from writes. The position nearest the contacts unlocks the card. If the switch is already in the proper position, slide it fully the other way and then back again.

Can't get to set up menu with my new memory card in camera to set it up to use the memory card instead of the internal memory. Camera keeps saying memory card needs formatted-continue or cancel-I go to...

1. with no card in the camera, go into the menu and find "format"...follow the on-screen instructions to erase the internal memory.
2. insert the card and do the "format" thing again from the menu as you just did for the internal memory.

My kodak easysharecamera keeps saying the memory card needs to be

I'm having the exact same problem! I have formatted 2 SD cards on the computer and it still didn't work. Every time I've tried formatting on the camera, it says it is and then says again that it needs to be formatted. I even went out and bought a whole new Kodak SD card, thinking I just needed a Kodak one, but no luck.
I can't help, but I was just wondering if you ever got the problem solved because I really would like to know.

Memory card won't format on Kodak Easy Share camera

Make sure that your memory stick is not set on not to write. There is a white slide on them showing a lock and unlock symbol. Put it on the unlock symbol.

Can not format memory card

I had that problem too back in the day and the camera wouldn't format the card. I believe it's an early sign of the camera on it's last legs of life.

Just plug the card into your computer and do it that way... Also double check that your memory card isn't set on the lock position that could be making the memory card a read only card at the moment
