No forward After replacing belt, the forward direction does't work. Only forward direction.

Sounds like you have the belt running in the opposite direction. You need to Change the way the belt is routed around the pulleys

undo the plate at the back,,, the fan on the motor needs to be replaced,, that is the plastic fan.. sometimes you need to replace the one on the inside aswell,, try the back one first.. its not the motor,.. it is the plastic fans
after a period of time they just wear

Not sure what is going on here, these machines do not have a clutch as such, it will be a idler pulley that is pulled onto the back of the belt to tention it thus taking the drive to the hydro unit, so it may be a simple idler pulley replacment, or slave pulley replacement, with the hydro in neutral have somebody sit in the seat and work the pedal whilst you look under neath and watch what is happening.

run the engine and watch the drive shaft behind the engine , is it turning ? also as your mate selects forwad and reverse ! does it stop turning ? pos flywheel damper or output shaft damaged ! pos gearbox damaged !??

It maybe a coin or something trapped in the seat rail or pull cord snapped or stuck if manual, if electric then have you checked plug to motor or fuse???

Some of those belts require a twist to provide the correct motion on the brush and stay on.
To determine the existing motion, install the belt and carefully stand the Vacuum on the handle and observe the rotation of the brush while running. The brush rotation direction should be into it's self so when it's on the floor it acts like it's trying to pull the vacuum forward.
If the brush is throwing dust forward and feels like it's pushing away its incorrectly mounted. Look at the operator manual and it should have a section on belt installation.

I don't think it's the direct drive as that just makes the platter spin around. Since the stylus sits in a record which moves it forward, if it gets stuck then it's going to be something to do with the arm of the record player that can't move beyond that point. Check around the piviot of the arm for problems and look at the anti-skating control. If you can move the platter by hand that will prove it's not the drive if the stylus gets stuck.
