PC Camera not compatable with Vista

When I use the DXG-521 and choose PC Camera for Vista, it asks for a driver, then I installed it, but it never works.
Is there any compatability?

Transferring Files to PC:

1) Turn on Camera.
2) Plug in the USB cable to the camera and into the computer.
3) You will now see a menu on the LCD that contains Mass Storage and PC camera.
4) Highlight and Select MASS STORAGE with the Round Selecting button.
5) Your LCD screen will go blank (this is normal).
6) Found New Hardware message should pop up on your computer screen.
7) Double click on DCIM Folder.
8) You will see a folder named 100FSCAM
9) Double click the 100FSCAM folder and you will see your Picture images and Video files.
10) Your video files will have a MPEG at the bottom of the thumbnail image.

If you do not get a Found New Hardware message simply try the following:

*Go to my computer, or computer on Vista. Open it and look for the Header that contains Devices with Removable Storage. Look for a removable disk letter E, F, G, H, I, or No Name. Within these contents folders will appear, DCIM, MUSIC, MOVIE, DEMO, AND PHOTO. Once you see DCIM folder follow steps 7-10 above.

If you loaded the XP driver on a vista machine, it will not work. Vista is a 64bit O/S and XP is 32bit.
You will need to contact the manufacture for a vista driver. Sorry, there is no other way. That is the price of advancement.

I need the software to run it.

The manual and driver for supported OS versions are here: http://www.dxgusa.com/downloads . The manuals for all of their cameras are listed first and then the drivers. They are listed in order so the DXG-572V driver is in the third line, third from the right of the driver section.

The driver may not have been updated from the original which for Windows XP/ME/2000/98SE. In Windows Vista 32-bit the driver may work or the correct driver may be in the OS. For Windows 7 32-bit, use the driver built into the OS. (Microsoft's compatibility center provided the information.)

With the 64-bit versions of these newer versions of Windows, the compatibility is unknown. However, the driver from the DXG site will probably not work without the compatibility mode, if it works at all. For compatibility mode, right click on the exe file and choose Properties, select the Compatibility tab and set it to run as Compatible with an older version of Windows. Then right click and Run as Administrator. Otherwise, keep it on a computer with the older OS, use a dual boot with the older OS or a virtual computer with an older version of Windows. With Win7 Pro or Ultimate, you can use the XP mode for a free virtual computer. (Download and install Microsoft's Virtual PC and then XP mode; install the camera to the virtual computer.) All other methods will need a licensed version of an older version of Windows. The only issue with the virtual computer is that files can't be shared between the two computers directly. Put them on external or optical media to share them with the real computer.

I hope this helps.

Lost the charger and usb cable where can I buy them

Apex Battery offers two DXG-308 chargers

http://tinyurl.com/2fstzxp

laptoptraveler.com has a charger they say is compatible with the DXG-308

You can bypass the need for a USB cable with a card reader. That also saves wear on your camera.

Search Amazon.com for "card reader" and choose one compatible with your memory card

Windows 7, not compatible

Maybe, It doesn't work because the driver/application you installed is for other versions of operating system. I am also using windows 7 like you so don't you worry, You can still use your old installer/driver from other versions of operating systems. Just remember that before installing any program in a windows 7 Operating System Computer, Use "troubleshoot compatibility". Right Click the Icon of your program installer first, then choose "troubleshoot compatibility". This will allow you to choose on what type operating system your program will run. Just reply back if it still doesn't work.:D rate and vote for me:)) julyallan01_35.jpg

DXG 305V Vista Compatibility Issues?

Doesn't look like anybody plans on making drivers that will work with Vista. You're probably out of luck, like a lot of other people and their hardware when they made the switch to Vista (me included, since I have this camera).
Best solutions (which still ****): Get a new cheap camera certified to work with Vista, or find a way for your pc to run XP instead of Vista.

Want to save my photos in the memory to the flash drive in the camera. How do I do this? I have a DXG 305V and windows vista os. The computer does not recognize the camera and I did install the program...

http://www.softwaredriverdownload.com/driver_for_model_305v_dxg_digital_video_camera.html

that's the most recent driver. but it is only for up to xp. it may be the same one as you have installed, but maybe you should uninstall that one and install this one instead, to be sure.
To configure the windows vista compatibility mode for this application, just locate the installation directory and right click on the .exe, selecting Properties from the menu. Select the Compatibility tab. You can choose to run the program in Windows XP compatibility mode, or even all the way back to Windows 95 compatibility. You should choose XP compatibility mode, as this driver pack has support for XP as default.
Hit Apply. and OK. It should work for you now, unless a reboot is required.
It should detect and install the camera device now, and you can copy the photos to your computer, and then to your flash drive if you wish.
have a good one

I1032 Camera Driver for Vista?

To get going, insert the CD that came with the camera into your computer. Instead of choosing the autorun, install the DVIX application before commencing to install other desired applications. With the above sequence, you will be able to install the camera driver and will be able to download your pictures into your computer. Howerver, during the download, the computer will ask you if you will want to scan your camera and fix problem or continue, chose continue that is don't scan. Enjoy your camera and computer interface.

Cant install DXG-305

I am having same problems with WinXP but driverguide.com has a driver download that may help with your vista problem. If you are not a premium member you will go through several ads, but if it fixes the problem it will be well worth it
