Question about Samsung HL-S5087W DLP TV

1 Answer

Ge Triton dishwasher will not drain and makes a funny noise.

Hi, I have a GE Triton dishwasher that has had problems draining occasionally. I had a repair man come out about a year ago and he charged us $175.00 for twenty minutes of work. I think he unclogged something. Currently there is about an inch of standing water in the bottom and during the cycle there is this weird crackling noise coming from the bottom front panel. I would like to try and fix this myself if possible. I cannot afford a huge repair bill. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks,
Raelyn

Yes!! The crackling noise you hear is small pieces of food stuck spinning around the moter drain....All you have to do is find the drain hose (some are located under the sink of the kitchen) disconnect it from the draining source (not the back of the dishwasher) now run a long thin wire through the drain hose line poke around and pull in and out!! it may take a few tries but its better then a large Bill!! replace hose and hit drain button!!

GE TV MODEL #52GW945---WONT TURN ON

Have someone check to see if the Horizontal output transistor is shorted==that and the high voltage transformer were common failure parts in this model

When I turn on tv...green light goes on with a squeaky noise and then goes out...no picture and tv does not turn on

a noise like you describe is a symptom of what is known as the horizontal output transistor. It would be shorted and along with that the flyback transformer is bad. the flyback is very common problem with the ge version of the rca itc 222 chasis. This repair generally runs 80 to 150 dollars to repair at your local tv shop.. well maybe at our shop but that an average.

My ge has to warm up to get a picture

CRT televisions usually do somewhat of a warming up before the picture looks normal. These sets monitor the performance or current drain of each CRT (red, green and blue) and if they are out of balance meaning one CRT is weaker than the others it will wait until they are somewhat balanced before it allows the picture to come up. Its a sign of aging on the CRT's and is to be expected.

its either the HV splitter or the flyback which needs replacement. You can get both items at the following link with free instructions.

TV Turned off, now there is a clicking noise when plugged in.

had a 51" GE rear projection donated to myself. While off and power button pressed there was a clicking noise from the front of the unit. Rear cover was removed and it could be observed that the hv splitter had a crack in the casing and the power was arcing out of the splitter. I purchased a $72 dollar hv splitter, i read that the $20-$30 dollar one would break within a year, and the unit powered up no problems.
