Trying to play God of War 2 but the L1 buttons on both my PS2 controllers do not work. I tried blowing the dust out of both the ports and the controller but nothing seems to work. ANy other things I can do?

This is a very common problem with playstation 2's. If you have a newer slim system its fairly simple to open the disc bay and use canned air to dust the lens. If its a thicker older model than theres not really much you can do. you can try a lens cleaner disc, but this rarely works.
God of War 3 has been announced, but hasn't been released yet. It has been announced for PS3, not PS2. It will not be compatible with your system. If you want to play it, you will have to purchase a PS3.
Your ps2 needs to be fixed, gow 1 and 2 are dual layered discs and alot of ps2 originals and slims have trouble playing it, trying calling sony and they can usually fix it for about $45, the laser in your ps2 is worn.
