Question about Frigidaire FWS445RF

1 Answer

No spin cycle

Machine goes through all cycles until spin. It then makes a moaning noise and shuts off. There seems to be a click noise right before it shuts offf. Could the click be an automatic shut off? Machine will reset in a couple of minutes and go through cycles.Spin cycle is the only one that does't work.

Dear zoofan.lets see hum.....to agaitate the motor goes one direction.to spin useing the same belt it goes the oposing direction.so when spins lid switch completes curcit to motor then it would spin so if click you hear is the motor protector switch [its like a curcit breaker] kicksout that means you lid switch is working. but could the noise be the timer advancing? timer makes clicking noieses also.then that would put into question your lid switch.but you said it starts again after a few minutes.if thats a sure thing then it ,your motor is involved but a possiable is somthing is between the tubs[thats a visiual inspection]sock, any clothing or if had a nail or somthing of that sort going thru small holes in inner tub then jaming or draging on the outer tub that could stop the tub but most of the time the motor would go and would burn the belt.hope i gave you a few clues,God bless ,tom

Makes clicking noise spin cycle

it may be any part of the balance mechanism under the machine..remember if you did not balance (level) it prior to installing, it has to self level on its own..this usually calls for some noise in the linkages when spinning..

Loud noise, then not so loud, but now electrical burning smell and little draining

the smell is your clutch and the lack of draining is a clogged washer drain protector. see these at www.repairclinic.com drain protector is part 541811 and clutch is 2670. go there enter model number and scroll down to the red 100 click it and look for these part numbers.

Rattling noise during spin cycle

Most noises from a washing machine occur during the spin cycle. If you hear loud thumping during the spin, the load of clothes may have become unbalanced. Stop the washer and redistribute the clothes, then re-start it. Repeat these steps if necessary.

Shows "LE" in display.

Machine has a bad motor or "stator" on this machine. It is a direct drive winding on the back of the machine. Remove the back panel, the one bolt removes the rotor then you will see the stator winding, replace it and your good to go.
