Question about Sansui VRDVD4005 DVD Player/VCR

1 Answer

Finalizing DVD My VRDVD4005 is not working and can not be fixed. I have about 10 homemade DVD's that I need to finalize so I can play them on my new DVD. Any solutions? Anyone want to sell me their machine or rent it to me for a day? I'm in Accokeek, Maryland which is in Southern Prince George's county.

Use a computer dvd burner to finalie the dvds and if you dont have one then take the drive thats in your sansui out and stick it in your computer because its a normal dvd burner for a computer

Disks are not NTSC

What device are you trying to play the file back on? What type of disc (commercial video or homemade)? If homemade, what device wrote to the discs?

If these are commercial discs, they may be PAL discs and will not play on a NTSC video player. You'd need a different player.

If these are homemade discs made on another device, check if the discs were finalized by that device. If the video was made on a computer, try a different format of the video files; check the DVD specifications.

I hope this helps. Please add comments with additional information on the problem if you need more help.

Won't play DVDs or CDs at all. Reads error code C-104.

Sansui VRDVD4005 will record DVDs provided they are DVD-R NOT DVD+R. I have one of these for 3 going on 4 years and I took it apart and cleaned the dust off the magnetic hub and that worked for awhile but (2-3 months) now I'm having trouble finalizing again. Someone on this site said it needs 8x NOT 16x disks ... 'cause it's an older unit ... I'm checking it out in the users manuel.

Sansui vrdvd 4005 - won't finalize movies anymore - just ruins them completely

Sorry but you are boinked. The problem is not that the unit is not finalizing your discs. The problem is that it is not copying onto these these discs. This is an older model unit and it will read 8x but not 16x discs. I started having the same problem and found this information out on another web site.

Disc not recognizing

Does your dvd match the reigon of the player? If you are using a homemade dvd then check if it is a dvd-r or dvd+r. Your player may support the other.

Pixilation when playback of dubbed and homemade DVDs

As mentioned on the Jan12 e-mailed Panasonic - surprise, no response! However on Panasonic's web site drill down to firmware upgrades for DVD machines. There is an upgrade available for the E50P. Straight forward fix, download to computer, expand it and copy to a CD-R. Put CD-R into E50 and recorder will check and update firmware. I did this on the 13th and have recorded two commercial free movies and both have played back perfectly after finalization. Time will tell. Hope this helps. Golferdon

Dvd well not play in pc dvd

Did you finalize the DVD disc after you recorded it? If not put it back into the unit and Finalize it P.27 manual " Setting the Disc" and it should play in all playback units. DD
