Two problems. why aren't inner and outter trolley connecting. did you leave rope is disconnect position. Second problem is door springs do not seem balanced. you should be able to lift door halve way up and let go. it should pretty much stay there; go up or down slowly ok. fly up or crash down; need to adjust springs/cables or maybe wrong springs.

The torsion springs might need adjustment.

Pull emergency release, and manually lift door to half-open position.

When you release the door, it should stay in place.
If it almost "slams" down, the springs are not doing their job to "balance" the weight of the door itself.
The opener isn't designed to overcome the weight of the unsupported (no spring assist) door.

Over time, the springs take a "set", and might need a readjustment
THIS IS A JOB FOR PROFESSIONALS!!!
The springs are under tremendous pressure loading, and can even kill someone if they do not know what they are doing!

Chamberlain power drive garage door opener stops prematurely in both opening and closing

I'm not familiar with the operation of this particular device but, based on past experience with others, I would say that if this is a newly-installed device it still has the factory safety settings and they're too low for your installation. There should be two knobs on the case to set the tolerances for raising and lowering the door; one to protect against blockages on the way up and the other on the way down. Try putting them both at the maximum. If that works, reattach the door and check again. If it still works, turn the "up" control down until it doesn't anymore then turn it back up just a bit. Then put a full roll of paper towels on the floor and adjust the "down" control until the door going down stops and reverses when the cardboard tube in the middle of the roll starts to deform. Good luck!

1/2 horse garage door opener doesn,t open all the way. I need about a foot more lift. The tried a trolley stops before the stop limit..Therre is no interference. I Tried adjusting the up limit to no...

You said you adjusted the up limit already. Is it adjusted as far as possible? Usually the screw will become harder to turn. You mention a new door and spring but is the opener the same? My guess is you have a new opener as well and it is out of sync with the trolley. Try turning the up limit back and see if the trolley will stop shorter. If it does, loosen the chain or belt so that you can remove if from the opener's drive gear. Bring the trolley to your stop limit and put the chain/belt back on the gear. Adjust the chain/gear tension and try door operation again. If it was a sync problem, the door should close closer to your limit. Adjust up and down travel as necessary to fine tune it. This worked for me so good luck.

I have Chamberlain 1160 Lift-Master farage opener. Currently the trolley stuck in the upped position agains the bolt and does not go back. When I try to close the door, the motor is humming twice, then...

Loosen the chain to remove the strain from it and run the motor until the door closes. While the door is closed locate the 'up limit' on the side of the motor unit and turn this control 2 complete turns in the opposite direction of the arrow printed on the cover. Now you can tighten the chain.

Garage door opener wont switch from manual to electric again

I think what you mean is you pulled the rope to open and close the door manually and now you can't get the two halves of the trolley to reconnect.
If so, pull straight down on the rope and release. Then run the door so the two halves of the trolley connect. You may have to do that last step manually. If this isn't your problem post back.

Door can be opened manually when the trolley has

You can adjust the length of the arm between the trolley and door so that it is in a vertical position when the door is closed. This will prevent your problem.

Gaarage Door

Have you looked on both sides of the door at the bottom there should be cables. If they are not tight you probably have a damaged spring. Look up between the door and where the roller mounts are, there should be a tightly wound spring. This is what keeps the door up, if tension is lost then it will come back down. If it is broken it needs professional attention.
