You need to go to the HP website and download the Rom update. That should fix it.

Battery light won't change colors, drops to 0% once unplugged

Let the battery completely discharge all they way and let it sit for a day or so. Some times when a battery is new most user do not let it fully charge and then completely drain this causes problems for long use batteries. Then give it a try. It also sounds like your plug your cord that connects to the battery may be faulty. Did you by a different cord with the battery? Or use the one from your old one? If you did. This is a "No No" always buy the cord that come for those battery since they are rated for the particular battery.

The battery drains off very quickly as soon as i fully charge it and unplug it,, it hardly satys upto 12hours with minimal phone usage,, the battery metre usage shows cell standby 42% and also phone idle...

Go to teh phone settings, and under sync accounts disable all teh sync accounts that you are not using such as stocks etc. These constantly use up data and hence drains your battery as they do so in teh background. This should greatly improve your battery. If not, your battery must eb damaged and i woudl suggest you purchase an extended battery which may have up to 40% more battery life.

How long must a battery be on charge for it to be fully charged.

2 hours is enough for a battery to be completely charged...

Once the battery is charged you can remove the power supply and use the laptop till the battery drains up to 10% to 14%......
This will increase the life time of battery... If you keep on charging the battery continuously when using your laptop, then the battery life will be shortened very soon...
So charge and drain the battery properly... This will increase the life time of battery...

Battery drain/charge problems - Sirius Stiletto 100

An ohm meter across the contacts of the switch, with the battery removed, will show you if it has shorted. If you get a full scale defection on the meter, just like touching the test probes together, in the off position you will have a short.

My nokia E61i battery is draining very quick and charging quick as well.

Your battery is close to it's last leg. What you should do is fully charge it, let it run until it won't turn on, and repeat this process 3 or 4 times. If this doesn't improve your phone life your battery is going dead.

My suggestion as a wireless expert is when you get a new battery you initially run it until it wont turn on, fully charge it and repeat this for 3 or 4 times. This will develop the high and low end memory of your phone battery. If you plug the phone in too early it will set the lower memory boundry to that level when you could still have up to 15% life left. The phone company will most likely tell you "These new phones don't require you to do that". Trust me, it can't in any way hurt the phone, and you're getting the best life out of a new battery.

Ways to increase laptop battery life

Let the thing drain completely down to nothing.  When the pop up window says you gotta plug the thing in, just ignore it and do your thing.  When the computer shuts off by itself, hold down the power button for 5-10 more secs to fully drain the thing.  Then plug your computer in and let the battery charge for a good 6-8 hours.  Then unplug the charger and let the battery sit and cool down for about 15 minutes.  This is called conditioning the battery and should be done once every other charge.  Also, its a good idea to turn off your wi-fi if your not using it, bring the brightness down on your screen, and close any non-essential applications that are running.  Cheers old chap.

Battery does not charge

Will the old battery (that you are replacing) charge up at all? If the old battery charges but the new battery will not, then it's likely a bad replacement battery.

To rule out the possibility of a corrupted battery meter inside of windows, you may wish to leave the laptop on battery power only, until it dies. A 5% charge will usually only grant you about 20 minutes of laptop life maximum. Since you left it charging all night, you should get a few hours of life before it dies. If you get a few hours of life, the battery meter software is corrupted.

Most likely though, the replacement battery is bad.

Charging a Garmin Nuvi 260W

Generally most batterys are left on the charger overnight, thats a good way to ensure a full charge, but as you will be using it in your car, it doesn't matter much as power is always available.

To ensure best possible battery life when you have a brand new battery, charge it fully and then drain it almost to 0% Draining most batterys into 0% will be harmfull instead of helpful, I assume the nuvi uses a Li-ion battery so draining it fully is not a good idea, drain it almost fully and then charge it fully.

And you are good to go, repeat the process if you leave the unit unused for a month or two for best battery life.

S2 suddenly draining batteries rapidly

I have the same exact problem. I just now read a possible solution: try opening the battery compartment door and then closing it again to "trick" the camera into thinking it just got new batteries. There is definitely something wrong with the way the camera senses dead batteries.
