Question about Toshiba TLP-S10 Multimedia Projector

1 Answer

Video Projector from Toshiba

I have a Toshiba Video Projector. (TLP-S10). I have a normal signal on the progjector from the laptiop computer because I can see the projected image of the desktop and any windows, applications, and photos I wish to open. Everything appears to run normally as before but now as soon as I run a video. I can only see it on the Laptop's monitor but not projected on the screen. I have tried Windows Media player and another video application and I can only see the taks bar across the bottom but not the video image itself. Can you help? You said in your reply that what might be needed is changes in the video settings either on the projector or in the Media player. Would you be able to be specific as to what settings changes I could try?

I think it might be the video player or it might be the computer settings and the projecter settings.

My TLP-S10 lamp will not stay on after a couple of moments.

Is the fan working. Check fan. Very likely the device overheated. If fan is working the air filter might need to be cleaned. See you manual how to clean filter and reset the filter cleaning counter so that the device can work properly again.

What is wrong with my tlp s10 it gives the entire picture a blue tint the lamp has done 2700 do I need a new bulb

Check the Video cable that feeds the projector, could be a broken cable or a pin bent -worst case the connector on the projector has broken.
Try the VGA cable on your computer screen.
The lamp does not need replaceing, the lamp emmits white light only.

My Toshiba TLP-XD2000 projector reads "unsupported signal" when it is plugged in to my Dell Inspiron 600m laptop. It has worked for about 8 months perfectly and then when I plugged it into another computer...

reset the settings to factory default. when you plugged it into the 2nd computer, it searched for matching resolution, to no avail. when you put it back with yours, it was on the default setting.

I cant get signal from my computer

Many computers don't automatically turn on the external VGA connector when you hook up the cable to another monitor. One of the function keys (often F5, but not always) will turn on the connector. Usually the key has a symbol on it that looks like a monitor screen. When you press that key it will turn the external VGA connector on or off. On some computers the sequence goes laptop screen on and external monitor off, laptop off and external on, both on. Once you have the external connector turned on your projector will work properly.

Unsupported Signal

Hi Circuitrider

Just change the resolution on your PC to match that of the Projector i.e. XGA Projector = 1024x768 resoltuion.

If the problem still persists , the Mainboard is at fault and will need either replacement or repair.
