Water is pouring out of the top of the ice maker

I have a Kitchenaid Superba side by side refridgerator, water is pouring out of the top of the ice maker, I had to shut the water valve off under the kitchen sink to stop it. What is it and what do I need to do?

So, it's not possible that the hose from the sink to the ice maker has become old and cracked? Can I take the ice maker off myself?

You have to replace the ice maker .the water is metered via a timer built in it, the unit is not wrth servicing. they cost around 50$ you can do it yourself, they come with instructions. Good luck.

I need you to pour tap water into the ice maker to the top. Let water freeze and if the ice maker cycles and drops the ice into the ice bin and then does not refill the problem will most likely be the=> W10408179 Water Control Valve

If the ice maker does nothing and water control fills the ice slots the problem will point to the=> 8201515 Ice Maker Module

I will be here and glad to answer any questions you may have, Thanks Sea Breeze

Icemaker not working...

Hi, first , pour about 2/3 cup of water into the ice maker . If if freezes , and dumps , replace the water valve. If it does not dump the cubes , replace the ice maker. After pouring the water into the ice maker , remove the bottom kick panel , and clean the bottom coils , of dust , lint , pet hair , etc , as this will raise the freezer temp . An ice maker has to be 5 degrees , to operate , correctly . If ice maker starts working , after cleaning the coils , GREAT ! ( it does happen ) .

Take care

What causes the ice cubes in my ice maker fused

Good day,
If the temperature in the freezer is good and consistent, then it is the dual water valve on the rear of the machine, that is not shutting off properly.
The system turns the water valve on for 7 seconds just before the ice maker parks waiting for the next harvest cycle.
Many times the valve will be too slow in closing or continues to dribble even though no power is being applied to it, thus causing the well of the ice maker to overfill and overflow.
Replacement of the water valve is the only solution and is a very common problem.

Water on the ice maker doesn't shut off - drips into the ice pan

Most models of Ice makers have an automatic timer for the amount of water that is allowed to enter the Ice Maker tray. If your timer valve is going bad you need to replace it. First I would reduce the amount of water coming from its source. There should be a tapped valve under your sink, connected to your water line. You have to turn the top of the valve clock wise to reduce the amount of water the is going to the back of your refrigerator. That is where you will find the timer valve. Reducing your water flow should help reduce the volume of water being let into your Ice Maker.

Water Dispenser Shooting Out Water (KitchenAid Superba)

check where water inlet is and water inlet is connected direct to the inlet valve - normally a double valve ie one water inlet and two water outputs. just disconnect wires from valve, making a note of where they go and tape them up

Kitchen aid superba fridge - ice maker not working .. water dispencer is

The refrigerator has a duel water valve, one for the ice-maker and one for the water dispenser (if equipped). The valve that the ice-maker relies on may be bad, or it could be the ice-maker itself.
Another thing that could cause it would be the temperatures in the freezer. The ice-maker will not call for water until it reaches under 15 degrees. In addition, check the water tube behind the ice-maker to make sure it is not frozen, blocking more water from entering. The water does not go to the ice-maker or thru the filter unless the ice-maker turns on the water valve.
