I plug in all the plugs, did everything i could but my microphone wouldn't work, i dont know what to do. can you hel me?
OK OK OK, the lowriders use dolby digital with WMA playback, and there is a setting in ur xbox settings where u can change that. BUT UR NOT DONE YET. press the Xbox button, go to settings go to prefrences, go to mic and check the box that sais "play through both." and now u can hear the ppl and talk. however, what they dont tell u is that the mic interfears with the WMA, so all u need to do is just buy an inline volume adjuster at walmart (wally world) for like 3 bux (the one that coems with it is regualted by FDA or wtvr and has no sound which is verry unlike skull candy). THESE headsetes arnt cheaply made at all 2 tell the truth, they shooda came with instructions, but once u get em going, they r insane! i have a pair of turtle beach x5s and its nice, but not as good asthe lowriders. and anotehr feture they dont tell u, if u get a volume adjuster with the "base gain" swicth, it works on the lowriders, so u can add a little rumble and umph to ur headset.

Sandman you need to explain it well enough to make sense you make no sense your just trying to sound all technical. All you need to really do is buy a "inline volume control for a 2.5mm jack" the jack size for the xbox mics are 2.5mm and that is what cord you need to plug it into your controller. This inline volume control for the 2.5mm jack gives you headset volume so you can control the voice volume seperate from the game volume.
I have just been looking up this problem across the internet and decided to investigate with the small number of controllers I have. It seems that the Skullcandy Lowrider SGS's mics do not work, period. When in fact they only fail to function when connected to the main wired and wireless controllers made for the Xbox 360, both white and black. (I don't have any special red/blue ones)
But what I do have is the off-brand made "Madcatz" wired controller.
You may have a hard time looking it up via internet searches because it is a poorly rated controller. The body is cut down near the triggers, it feels too light compared to the regular controllers, and some of the buttons are configured differently.
However, these are the only controllers I have found to work with the Lowrider headphone/mics.
If you find anything else that works... post it up so people know, cause they really are cool headphones.
